After a week of partial beta testing in the new map/mode Dominion, it is now live.

Nearly a year in the making, League of Legends: Dominion represents the largest and most ambitious update to League of Legends since its launch in October of 2009. In Dominion, summoners do battle on a brand new map, the Crystal Scar, and vie for control over five Capture Points, a style of play never before attempted in the League of Legends universe.

The Crystal Scar is a domination style game type with 5 capture points. A team must hold more points than the other team in order to deplete their nexus. Games typically take no longer than 20 minutes, and XP/gold gain are greatly increased, and death timers have been lowered. There is more teamwork, and no lane grinding, or people getting fed. For a quick, bloody melee, Dominion is a great way to enjoy your favorite champions in a new light.'

The game plays like a very simple god-sim/puzzle game. You are the Breath of God which is represented by a giant snake like thing. The point of each level is to get your followers to populate the world and then eventually move on. Your other objective in each level is to cover the world in plants. This unlocks "memories of man" which you can look up later. The way you accomplish this is by having them worship at totems around the world, up to 4 in each level. The amount of control you have over your followers is go here and set up a town, or go here and grab this item. That's it. You cannot tell them go here and wait or anything else. Your interaction with the your people is minimal. If, somehow, you lose your villages and you have less then a total of 5 followers left in the world then you lose. This has happened to me once, on purpose, cause i was bored. Each town your followers create can grant you special powers which I will get to shortly.

Fallen Earth, the post apocalyptic MMO created by an independent game developer was recently sold to GamersFirst, the free-to-play gaming company that most recently resurrected APB in a free to play model. The specifics were broken over at Massively, and you can find the whole article here.

I actually resubbed FE a couple of weeks ago, completely unaware of all of the craziness surrounding their sale to Gamersfirst. I actually enjoy FE, it's a complicated, difficult, and huge mmo that gives you a sense of accomplishment when you just level up on your own. It's graphics are pretty awful, although the world is large and detailed enough that I can get over the bad graphics, but I understand it's an issue for some.

In general, I believe that offering a free to play model will get a lot more people into the game, rather than having to buy the game AND a subscription fee.

Doc, Stick, and I spent a few hours earlier tonight playing Terraria (Doc and Stick played longer then I did). I have to say that it was worth the $10. and its $30 for a 4-pack.

The game is kind of like Minecraft meets Final Fantasy in a 2-D action adventure side scroller. You can make a house and furnish it with various items and can even get NPCs to live there. We had the Guide NPC, who tells you what you need to do to get started, and the Merchant NPC. You can have your own characters that are persistent across different servers with some character creation (colors for shirt, skin, ect). You can keep what you have on you and can transfer it to another server if you want.

This is a great tip for those who didn't know about it.
How to turn on "Ducking" in ventrilo.

Q: Hey Blue, what is "Ducking"
A: Well friend, "Ducking" is when all sounds on your computer dim down by 50% or 80% when you use your microphone or when you are receiving incoming voice chat.

Q: Why would I care about this Blue?
A: Well... For example, if your a schmuck that doesn't use headphones, and likes to broadcast the annoying feedback of ventrilo across ventrilo... It would turn down your system sounds to a lower level so you don't broadcast a ridiculous amount of shit across town.

Just starting a thread in case some don't know about this game, and also to let everyone know that the beta is available through steam for free, and that this beta period has been extended till April 4th at 10AM PST. It's free so you might as well check it out.

So now some info on the game while you wait for the game to download :0

It's an action RPG(hack and slash) a la Diablo with some twists. You are playing from the perspective of a Crogenitor and control a squad of up to 3 living weapons(creatures/heroes). As you complete stages you gain xp and loot. XP contributes towards your Crogenitor level and will allow you to unlock new creatures, stat caps, ability to chain stages and more. Loot can be equipped on your heroes to increase their stats and to change their look, which is very customizable and is based on the Spore creature editor.

I woke up this morning and did my daily black ops forum check. Low and behold, the Jesus Patch had been released as of last night. I loaded up my Blops, jumped into a server, and could instantly tell the difference. No stuttering, no hitching, game ran smoothly. I still had all of my gfx settings at the absolute max (since it was a partial fix pre-patch), so I had a few FPS issues. I dropped my settings down to more reasonable levels, and everything played smoothly. It's not quite as good as MW2, but it's a newer game, and at this point my PC is on the low end so that's understandable.

    From Steam News

Updates to Call of Duty: Black Ops have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
