Since there is an upswing of CoH interest as of late:
We play on the server:
Victory

I run the supergroup the Fist of Justice. FoJ was formed in January or so after my previous sg collapsed due to personality conflicts. The majority of the SGmembers that didn't go solo went into FoJ.

Any GH member is welcome to join. Standards are approximately the same as they are here; ie, please act like you would at GH (or better! :))

Only things I really ask are:
Be part of the Global Chat Channel: Victory Forum.
Try to play in teams rather then solo.
Try to contibute to the official CoH forums. In particulary, the Victory Forum.
Try to keep chatter on the Coalition channel low. I set coalitions up with ten very good sg's, with the intention that the channel is to be mainly used for teammates and not idle chatter.

Same could be said about Victory :) Only thing that sucks is that its hard to get Arena fights so falcon & I have resorted to whooping on lvl 50's :-/

Satanic_Hamster

Most servers are having arena population problems. I think it was a big mistake by the devs not to have the area be cross-server.

Victory has some dedicated pvp'ers, mostly w/ their level 50's, largely power levelers. Have an open "Arena Madness" night every Monday that gets a decent turnout.

Also know as the Lions Den.
I wonder why that is...
PL'ers wanting to do PvP more than other?
Contest of uberness?

Satanic_Hamster
09-30-2005, 04:07 PM
A little bit. Also a way to justify their 50's that they don't play.

Well its the only content they have.

I have a new hero NewBreed Havoc
original isnt it?

Satanic_Hamster

About as original and lame as, say, Fisty Poo or Spurty-Healer.

NewBreed
10-06-2005, 08:27 AM
eh it was my first hero, scrapper, though I thinkI am going to make a tanker or controller

Satanic_Hamster

Suggestion:
Play a tanker, scrapper, or blaster up to level 10 or so. These are the easiest characters, imho, to play while you're still learning the game mechanics / basic strategies. After that, try a defender and a controller up to level 5.

Then go hardcore into what you want your main to be.

Controllers are my favs by FAR.

I've tried almost every class (except tank) up to lvl 15+. The cool thing is that it doesnt really take long to lvl and you really get to see different aspects of the game by playing different characters.

NewBreed

Scrapper is easy to play, just kind of barrel into everyone and kill whatever while just using skills here and there. My energy focus skills keep me alive while my claws skills are owning everything up. Debating making a Punisher style blaster next. We will see.

A warning:
The assault rifle looks like shit.

Personally, I would suggest ice or electricity. Good power sets that you don't see that often.

Especially elec.

NewBreed
10-06-2005, 10:25 AM
Yeah, I could so a High voltage type character

Satanic_Hamster
10-06-2005, 10:35 AM
Elec is nice because it looks cool, and most importantly (and ESPEICALLY for pvp!), it has endurance draining attacks. But hell, that's good for pve as well.

Blasters are fun. Being able to blast shit from range is always fun. While my main and first love remains my level 50 tanker, I'm not sure if I'll ever do another melee character.

NewBreed

I just like creating characters. I may never get past lvl 5 with just creating new characters.

That's a lie newbreed! I have a 21 blaster, 6 tanker, 5 defender, 5 scrapper, and level 3 controller!

my levels aren't high, haven't had much time to play.

I've got: blaster (AR/Devices), blaster (electric/electric), scrapper (katana/reflexes), defender (radiation/radiation). Will eventually make a controller. Not particularily interested in being a tanker.. Never have liked playing that role.

My empathy defender is pretty fun to play. But i'm useless at anything else than teleporting/ressurection/healing :D

Scorpion
10-08-2005, 11:22 AM
yeah I noticed the same on my emp defender fist... but he has made ALOT of friends hehe. If your good at healing people will flock to group with you.

Lowbieville, everyone loves the empath.

Noobs.

Endurance drain in pvp sucks :-/ The only decent skill is short circuit but only takes i think 25% endurance in pvp maybe less.

I don't mind defenders who can't heal, its when they are on the only person on the team who should (cause they do it best) and they can't hah left some many teams after reading the only defender in the party can't heal.

Fine under level 10 to die frequently, but soon becomes a burden.

I've not tried PVP yet. Possibly never will, but ice defender would be good there I imagine slowing the opposition to a crawl

Satanic_Hamster

Spurty, to be fully honest... Only low leveled or inexperienced players are concerned about healing. You'll find a defender that prevents you from even being damaged in the first place is far more usefull then an empath.

It's all about the person, not the AT.

Took the words completely out of my mouth. Empath healers are nice, but when you have a defender and a controller that dont even let a mob attack whats the point. In most cases Empath healers in a group mean people can be more lazy. If that one empath goes afk for 2 secs the group realizes there lake of paying attention and may die. As hamster said its about the players not just the AT.

Yep. Sup level 30 bubble defenders are worth two empath defenders.

Most level dark/rad defenders? Mmmmmm, especially if they're smart enough to watch their anchors when they run. And ESPECIALLY if the team is more carefull to not kill the anchors.

Everyone tells me to make an empath defender.

Then i read this about bubble def being much more effective than empath. GG!

Satanic_Hamster

You were listening to NOOBS!

:)

Nah, they're all good. Empaths have other, very, VERY nice things besides healing. Clear minds and recovery aura, for starters.

PeregrineFalcon

MMMMMMMMmmmmm CLEAR MIND....overpowered in PvP when teamed with just bout anyone, but an awesome skill :-)

Erad

Storm for the win :) Its one of the most unique defenders in that you have to go into an offensive mode to protect your team. Think in the future I might roll up an ice/storm controller for some uber control.

[gh]Spurty

God guys, if thats TRUE what your saying I have soooo not once found it so.

Where are all these uber defenders who actually do what you say playing? Cause they are avoiding me.

There again, I've not got a single character passed level 22 lol

Obviously you have experienced playing as or with players who have a scooby doo (clue).

Yes, both my defenders are empaths with Clear Mind and Recovery Aura and constantly running Healing Aura. It is on auto and never appears to affect my endurace levels (i.e. I recover way more endurance than I spend firing off a healing aura with my defenders, but a controller with it is crippled).
