I came accross an Ad for the martix online game and I just don't get it. Isn't the point of the matrix that you're hooked into a giant network and people are risking their lives to get you out? And this game wants you to log into a giant network to play? huh?

There are 3 factions for you to fight for/against. The humans, the computer, and the rogue programs (lead by the Merovingian). The story is that the computers agreed to let all those who wanted out of the matrix to leave, but they're being sneaky about it, as are the humans who aren't supposed to cause any trouble in the Matrix. The Merovingian's guys are just there to add chaos, and cause instability to the delicate truce that the other two sides have forged. Read a little bit about the story on some of the websites, and it starts to make a bit more sense.

Bah to "reading" and "research". I just thought it ironic that you're logging into a game based on a movie where everyone is logged in and people are trying to get you out.
