Well, got a FULL server on CS2 today playing my random weapons mod, a lot of people had a hoot with it.

Things to resolve or add:
- Initial map load screws up the weapon handouts. I'll probably add a round counter and only hand out weapons after say, 3 rounds have passed (because of that reset on a map load).

- Modify the weapon weights so you can have NO primary AND NO secondary, so it'll be knife only - to balance it out, you get silent run =D

- Add so regardless of sniper rifle, there's a 50-50 chance no-scope is enforced.

- Various special powers to certain people by STEAM_ID (i.e. Jeff gets silent run and knife only)

- Ability to toggle the special powers on or off, in case you feel like playing 'normally'

And for admins, if you have ADMIN_KICK priviledges (aka every admin), you can modify the status of the mod:

Commands are:
spaz #
where # is
0 for off
1 for Random
2 for random but team-based (i.e. only CT's can get TMPs)
3 for random matching weapons
4 for random matching team-based
5 for random 1 to 4

spaz_maxrounds #
where # is the number of rounds before it rolls for a new weapon set for the teams

How about this: every day at 3pm, if you're looking for a game to play, JOIN CS2. Don't just refresh, see CS1 and CS2 empty, and then join TFC when a spot opens up.

I'll be joining at 3pm if I don't have something else to do, even if it's just to get the server running. Having said that, I do have something to do at 3pm today (tues) and will probably be back in an hour, but every other day, I'll try my best to work with this 3pm thing.

OK, let me clarify, things I can do thru AMX are:

- silent run
- more/less hitpoints
- more/less armour
- extra damage, or lessen the damage taken
- give specific weapons out
- change gravity
- add or remove $
- turn on or off hitboxes on a per attacker/victim basis (i.e. I can make it so I can ONLY hit headshots, or make it so everyone airwalk attacks can only be damaged by their feet)
- Shake the camera

will add more, once I figure them all out

I can't change the speed you run/walk at (yet)

Ya, you can always search on the AMX forums for other cool features. I don't have the time to do it since I don't know your tastes plus I would be busy coding the mod. Give a link to the post(s) and preferably the code snippet.

Of course, the powers can be toggled on and off. Actually, what I'll do instead is have a cfg file listing your STEAM_ID's and a default power, but let you pick what other powers can be used if you want to change it. It might be easier than having to hardcode everyone's STEAM_ID into the mod (with the exception of making airwalk only hit feet =).

And remember, the Phenomenal Cosmic Power should be balanced with some weakness, otherwise what's the point? Like, for Long_Sniper, I'll give him EVERYTHING... problem is, he'll only get one clip per weapon, HAHA =)

- As CS1 and 2 are merged now, the server.cfg is set so the mod is always turned off on a new map load. Admins can always change it by typing 'spaz' in the console.
- Added mode 6, knife+silent run only
- Changed the forced noscope on all sniper rifles to be random
- Secondary can now be set to none, so if you're really, REALLY unlucky you get knife vs, say, p90. But the bonus is you get silent run
- Fixed up the STEAM_ID checking
- so JeFF really does get his silent run and knife now
- And at the same time, if Pickoff plays, all hitboxes of his targets are turned off, so now he has a legitimate excuse to whine, complain and gripe instead of making up imaginary game errors. =)
- Also Pickoff will get 999 health and 999 armour, as he'll need it.
- And does 2x damage when he hits (which is a moot point as he can't hit anyone anyway)
- Also gravity is set to 2000 and his max speed is halved.
- And if anyone says "Pickoff", it does a point of damage to him.
- And if Pickoff says "hitbox", the text will change to "I pretend it's because of an imaginary error in the game, because I refuse to accept I'm not as good as I think I am."



(And no, I haven't really added anything of that sort to the mod for Pickoff, I'm just writing it as a joke =)

Spaz 1.3
- Sniper zoom is now restricted by weapon, instead of by team, so if you dropped a noscope AWP and the opponent dropped his scoped Scout and picked up the AWP, he can't scope either.
- Hostname will change to add "+SPAZ MOD" when the mod is turned on, and remove it when the mod is turned off. This is to allow people to know before joining the server.
- Individual players can toggle their special powerups using the command "spaz_powerup" from the console. You'll see a msg when it's run. Best would be to bind some key for it. This is so people can opt to play 'normally' or muck around, and won't be restricted to always in one mode.

Player specific abilities are hardcoded for the moment and are as follows:
ThriKreen, Fist: Shotgun
FadeToWhite, LowLight: Scout
Stick: FiveSeven
WangChung: USP (you'll have to silence it yourself)
Nefarious: Knife only, silent run, low grav, 200/200
[-oJ-]*JeFF*: Knife+silent run, 250/200 *HE CAN NOT TURN THIS OFF HAHA*

If you ask me all the fun with spaz goes away when you give them whatever they want, so if you are gonna do that, why not add something that mess them up, like no pistol, no nades, no walk option or something.

Okay, I played this today for the first time. Interesting, but I don't know if I want to play it all the time. Okay, I don't want to play this all the time. Regardless, why is the buy time so low when he mod is on? You barely get the weapons and then the round starts with zero time to see what you get or wha thte other team gets. Plus, it just leads to lots of rushing....

Those ppl with 250 hp and knives shouldnt be able to use weapons... and people with special privledges should be able to use a freaking scout or usp when everyone else has a knife. That is all.

I don't like the 200 health knife only guys. They just pick up a gun from a dead body (or are given one at spawn) and are 200 health normal weapon guys...with silent run and low grav to boot.

I also don't like when it's a scout, no scope round and a guy has a 'super-power' of always scout being able to scope. Or having a gun on knife only rounds.

In short, this is an amusing mod with a ton of 'bugs' that make game play unfair to random players who don't know about these forums or how to set up super powers. It'd be much more balanced if these were turned off completely

oh yea, and I have a request thri, since some of these other guys are getting 200+ hp, it kinda defeats the purpose of silent run + knife only. If you could make the knife stronger for the people with knife only, that would be superb

ok just to clarify some things... i can choose to get a scout every round everything else is the same... pistol choice and knife and nades... however if one of the normally chose primaries of any team is a noscopable scout... that makes my scout no scopable as well... since the no scoping is weapon based... the ninja name thing is the only buggy thing... that i see they should not be able to pick up weapons and keep their health and silent run

- spaz 6 will now override ninja mode
- ninjas no longer get 250/200, but 100/200. If you're going to be lame and ask your weapon carrying teammates to drop them for you, screw off.
- certain powerups have been reduced (i.e. no more grenades, 200 armour, no more secondary)

To do:
- Perhaps limit ninja mode to only 2 per team (server cfgable)
- ninjas will not be able to carry any weapons, need to code the event for weapon switching and pickup
- Not sure how to handle money and grenades, anyone want to offer a suggestion? There is an event for when money changes, but setting it to always stay at $399 isn't ideal.
- admin enabled spaz mode
- player vote (so if majority wants it, it gets enabled)
- enact changes like mp_freezetime and toggling off friendlyfire as needed, and like the hostname, revert on turning the mod off.
- If Pickoff plays, regardless if the mod is on or not, hitboxes will randomly turn off on his victims.
- If Pickoff plays, regardless if the mod is on or not, he'll get randomly flashed once a minute. Flash duration also lasts twice as long.
- If Pickoff plays, regardless if the mod is on or not, HE grenades will do double damage to him.
- If Pickoff plays, regardless if the mod is on or not, his max speed is reduced
- If Pickoff plays, regardless if the mod is on or not, his personal gravity is increased
- If Pickoff plays, regardless if the mod is on or not, he will spontaneously die at random intervals.

(yes I'm still kidding about the Pickoff stuff)

I'm hesitant to modify the existing code as it's pretty sloppily designed, want to focus on a more flexible system instead of patching up the existing one for things people want.

what if at the start of the round, you give both teams 3 choices.
So if CT option 2 wins and T option 3 wins, well its #2vs#3

Or can you do a random wepond change? like every 40 sec your wepond changes?

and give ferret no hitboxes except in the groin area. that way, its ALMOST god mode for him. and for pickoff, do the opposite. take away the hitboxes for everyone else except the groin area, so he has to shoot the groin to kill

i think you guys misunderstand. when ur turn on spaz mode, no matter which you choose, your whole team gets the same gun. I believe ferret wants it that every player gets a random weapon so everyone has different weapons

ThriKreen, you could add infinite nades pretty easy for a Nade mode. If you implement the change_weapon function we discussed the other week, you could put a line of code in there for a knife/nade only mode, if(new_weapon == knife) give_equipment(nade)..

Cause if you only have nades and knife, you'll switch to knife everytime you throw your nade, and it'll give you another.

would you mind giving ninjas like 2 or 3 smoke grenades? when ninjas had nades before, i liked to just toss a nade and wait for someone to enter, stab them and run off before smoke disappears

Yes, I'll be doing some nade replenishing for the ninjas, because, hey, they're ninjas. You need the flash and smoke to disappear.

I've got a decent weapon toggle system now, just looking at how to handle various modes via cfg files.
