It was kind of slow to me. They seemed to drag the movie on with "Love Story” instead of some kick arse action. I give the movie about 2 1/2* . It had some great special effects.

I give it 4.5/5, I liked it BECAUSE of the character development.

I think it's because they don't want to focus just on special effects or ass kicking scenes, like most sequels do. But instead focus on Peter Parker, as opposed to Spider-Man, over his doubts as a super hero and responsibilities and all that.

yeah it was good, I think the start was a lil slow but all around it was good. Naturaly they put in the forshadowing to the 3rd movie at the end.

when you think about it the whole spiderman series is a big Greek tragady for Parker

WARNING POSSIBLE SPOLIER!!!!!

my prediction for spiderman 3... Harry Osbourne becomes Green Goblin Reborn but John Jameson comes back from space with the symbiote suit ( Venom Suit) Spidey fights the Green Goblin with it but experiences problems and get's rid of it at the end of the movie... where of course eddie brock picks it up for spider man 4

yeah i really liked the movie... i thought there was just the right balance between action and character developement. Although it did seem kind of slow, there was plenty of coolness to keep you busy until the good parts happened.

The scene on the train > all. Jumping through the bridge was awesome.

1) Harry becomes the Hob Goblin. not the green goblin

2) Id luv to see Venom as well in the next movie, and in 4 id like to see Venom return with Carnage

3) Why hasnt Conners turned into the Croc or whatever its supposed to be yet?

No, Harry is Green Goblin II, not Hobgoblin. Hobgoblin is a seperate character, he buys the technology from OzCorp.

First, Osbourne is Green Goblin. Then Harry is Green Goblin. Then Old-Osbourne comes back to life and is Green Goblin again. Later on some guy stumbles over one of GG's hide-outs and improves all his stuff, thus becoming Hobgoblin.
No one ever knew who Hobgoblin really was, but some assasin clamed that he was and took credit for it.

you should run a comic book store. tell me, are you grossly overweight and always wear a shirt that says "worst episode ever"?

Wrong, there were never 3 Goblins, only 2. the 1st was Harrys father, the GG, and the 2nd was Harry after he finally cracks and HE becomes the Hobgoblin.

DK0 you are wrong... Turambar's statements is the right one.... The Green Goblin came around three times.... one was Norman the second was Harry and then Norman came back to life in true Marvel form.

EDIT: I did some research and came up with this:
http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/index.html

if you go to H for Hobgoblin you will see that there were 4 different Hobgoblins none of which were the Osborns

And in G for Green Goblin there were 4 different Green Goblins... Norman and Harry plus two others

wow nice white. Glad to see someone likes to put informed answers up, never realized there were 4 hobgoblins, but I have never been a huge Spidey fan, was always more into xmen and spawn.

I was reading an article and what I read was that there was only going to be a 3 movie series not 4. And I really do not like the character the green goblin. I think that character is much less interesting then all of the other ones.

In reaction to spiderman 2, I think the movie could not have been done better. This is the ONLY sequal I can ever say that "might" be better then the first.
None of us can foget the connection we had when we first expierenced Peter Parker's change into Spider Man.
Yet this new movie continues on the path of the audiance staying connected to Peter, while giving us this amazing feeling of being able to fall in love with the one we truly believe we should be with.

In hopes of not offending those who are gun hoe about action, action, and more action. It is jsut not good movie making to creat a movie like that. Look at Martix and it's sequals, extremly disapointing.

To become specific about the movie, I learned alot about comidic relief from this movie. I used to believe it was stupid only ment to entertain the simple minded. Little did I know that most people jsut can not handle such a long time of serious drama. Because this movie did not balance the comidic relief well a couple good parts of the movie were reuined because people needed to laugh at something.

doc oc throws spiderman up and foward while they are both on the train. spiderman does some crazy acrobatics through a bridge obveously not touching anything or slowing down

but somehow he lands exactly where doc oc is

if we ignore that. i liked the movie a lot.

Yes, I too think that Spiderman Dos was better than Spiderman Uno. Of course we can't forget about:

Aliens
Terminator 2
Star Wars - The Empire Strikes back
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

oh and of course... the sequel to the ORIGINAL You Got Served:
Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo

I loved it also. Why hide the fact that Peter Parker is Spiderman when MaryJane is just going to get grabbed at the first opportunity anyway ?

Also, the bit on the train was awesome. lol I was on the edge of my seat.

For some reason, I thought Reed Richardson and those fantastic 4 were going to come into the story line (I was more into Iron Man comics as a kid)

I don't think ANY of those were better than the original. The only possible candidates are:

Toy Story 2
Young Guns 2
Final Destination 2
Jeepers Creepers 2 (I just watched this last night - AWESOME!)

Oh, I haven't seen Siderman 2 yet. Gonna go and buy the first one to refresh myself first.

FTW, I had the same feeling that was going to happen in spidey 3. I think MJ might die in spidey 3, seeing as all the other characters are signed up for 3 & 4 except the one that plays MJ. Hrm....

I liked that series when Peter is Venom.

how can you have spiderman without mj?

Temple of Doom was the worst of the 3 indy movies

yeah, but Kirsten Dunst doesn't even come close to the smokin' hot redhead MJ in the comics, so I hope they find a better replacement.

Note: I read none of the above reviews.

I hated certain scenes, but liked the movie on a whole up til the end. Then it dragged for another 10 minutes. It was better than the first one, but not the best comic book movie ever. I liked how they portraied Parker's indescission throughout the whole thing.

Better then the first (i didnt like the first much at all). The second spiderman had great fight scenes, and most everything was great. The one thing i disliked was the cheesey relationship with Peter Parker and MJ. In the comics it doenst come off as lame. In the comics, like the movie, he is forced to choose. However when he does get a chance to see MJ he doesnt sound/act/look like a complete T00L 8====D, im sorry but Toby McGuire (sp?) wasnt the best choice for Spidey.

Long live the 70s spiderman show, now that was cinematic genious! :-d

This is a great movie **** whatever that site says about the istakes. im not even gonna compare this movie to the comic books like i didi the first one. id advise everyone else do the same. Cuz its a totally different story/take on spiderman than in the comics. If you watch the movie as a movie and not as comic book guy trying to see where they **** up you will have a great time.

i was waiting for his next door neighbor to be the skinny chick from that episode about anorexia when mj brings her to stay with aunt may for a while.

this movie kicks ass, tobey mcguire is a great choice for peter parker/spiderman, the guy who plays doc ock, good choice, jonah jameson, great choice , robby...not so good, mj...i cant think of anyone else who could have played her although kirsten dunsts is a bit stiff in the emotional department, aunt may, lovely choice im glad they dont play her like she is in the comic books , some old frail ass lady, harry osborne, good choice, who am i forgetting? its a great movie.

I think that the guy who did Uncle Ben (as small a part as it was) did a great job.

I compleatly agree with you GND
