Css stats

For some reason id really like for the css stats on the site to be up.

whats wrong with them, how long before there up again?

i think ferret has said that it's a low priority due to stats being available on the servers through the statsme commands.

You really want stats up? I think the conversion to CSS should do away with stats. Not hating on you, but stats seem to "competition" like, and bragging and shit comes along. Especially if you play the game for "fun", stats are meaningless, only a way for regular's or anyone for that matter to say shit like "shut up newb I'm first on the server, Where's your name?" and blah blah blah..I say we burn all the stats on a .mov on the main page.

I'd rather have real marines cheat to win in real life than have them die. Lets keep things in perspective.

Real Marines shoot bad guys who look the other way. Real Marines drop bombs on people with no warning. Real Marines use real life wallhack, real life lambert and real life aimbots.

of course real life comes into this. We kick and ban people for the names they choose. We have a huge thread about should the word "A.I.D.S." be allowed in a name. I couldn't play under the name "Nazi ****ing your mother".

In case you don't know Semper Fi is Latin for "Faithful". Faithful to God, Country, Family, and the Corps. To use that phrase, a phrase people fight and die by, then cheat is a massive insult. To me it's comes close to spitting on their graves. I am sure some here don't see it the same way I do but that is how I see it. Part of my family is Military, my grandfather is buried in Arlington, and having someone use that slogan then cheating pisses me off.

So yea, I do think of real life when someone decides to have their GameHavoc name associated with a real life entity. If he wants to be associated with it he has a responsabilty for that choice. He failed miserably.

Eh, personally stats can annoying at times. Some people get a little two obsessed with it and tend to stat whore.

Very annoying when you have a half dozen very good players doing it deliberately.

Hey, wasn't one of your CS:S accounts perm banned? If it was to increase your ranking on the stats, that was the dumbest thing to ever do .. well that and think you could get away with it.

Apparently it drives people to cheat. The correct way to increase your position up the rankings is to play a lot and play better ;-)

failing that, get the people above you perm banned ;-) No, seriously, stats are always contentious as some people sadly believe there is some actual meaning to them. Stats are a great community thing, but hardly the kind of thing people should obsess about or cheat inorder to gain positions. Can't people just know their place any more? :?

im #640 our ot 730 last i checked. the only reason i know is cuz im trying to get my ration to 1:1 other than that i dont care. i just hate the thought that im dying more than i get kills. which is really sad.

I honestly say stats are fun to some degree, but at the same time they actually make me have less fun in the end. A couple weeks ago I was 1.09 k:d ratio on source, and as soon as I found that out I went "Yey, I'm not as bad as I thought" and I've gone downhill ever since because the pressure is now on. Now I'm around .95 k:d ratio. I feel like when there are stats I try less different things like just scouting for a map, or trying different guns, etc.
To be short, it doesn't matter. I should just never look at them.
