Okay, this weekend, I'm migrating a bunch of my freinds old computer parts into a new system. I'll be swapping hard drives and reformatting and reinstalling Windows and all that good jazz. The only thing I'm worried about is losing his NWN game data. I haven't played this game, but I know it's the one game he plays all the time and I want to make sure I don't lose anything between wiping his hard drive and reinstalling all his programs.
How does this game store data on the hard drive? I'm assuming it's like the Baldur's Gate series where each character can be saved and all the saved games are in a convenient folder, but I could be wrong. Also, where is the online game content saved? Are characters stored on a server somewhere or locally on the hard drive? What files would I need to back up so I can just reinstall the game, copy some folders, and boot into the online gaming content without losing any of his characters or quests that he might be on?
If what I'm asking for isn't clear, let me know. I've got a cold and am reallllly out of it right now.
