They are looking at creating a whole new type of processor for the playstation 3. One that is something like 100x faster than current pc processors, and that is awesome! I think they said the ps3 would be 1000x faster than ps2 and the processor would handle the graphics by itself. no need for a graphic from ATI or nVidia. The processors will have something called "self-healing" technology. Read about it in the article. I think I read in there that they would be using CD's like ps1 or ps2, but something else. That is the only downside I can see so far. The upsides include:
1. fast as hell
2. 2005 release date?
3. Gran Turismo 5 has already been confirmed

well, 4 comes out in november or something i think... but they announced that Gran Turismo 4 would be the last of the series on ps2. So, they havent started GT5 yet, I dont even think they can because of the technology, but I dont know. I was just stating that they confirmed a GT5 with is awesome

x-box is comming in early 2005.

PS3 aint comming out in 2005, trust me.
That technologie has been talking since a year or so.
And a unit that does all will maybe be good in 5-6 years, but for now people only want 1tv, 1 sound systeme, 1 gaming console, 1 PC...

Yea the gaming version maybe.

Remeber when 3D0 came out ? It was freaking expensive, and the PS1 was high also. So 500 or more for PS3.

500 for a CONSOLE....I doubt it. most consoles realease about 300, I seriously doubt they would sell well untill the prices would drop

who cares about consoles? I only buy a console when there is a game that I need to play for one. When consoles first release there are never any good games, so I wait for prices to drop alot. Id rather spend money on computer games.
