The best article I've seen on DRM yet:
http://www.craphound.com/msftdrm.txt

And more proof why DRM is just plain dumb:

This google cache should work... that's how I get by almost any firewall/content filter at school/work/etc.:

It's digital rights management, or instead of MP3, use WMA. Not necessarily a better codec, but one that Microsoft and partners can deny you access to playing on more than one computer (even if you bought the song legally), or if you upgrade your sound card and video card, it might think it's a different computer as well. DRM is evil. Look at the 2nd link, they're SELLING THE CONSTITUTION just because they put it into print form, not enhanced mind you with any layout changes, or search function, it's just a text file with a DRM wrapper on it, namely Microsoft eReader format. I'm all for artists and authors receiving royalties, but this isn't he way, and if you read the long talk, you'll understand why in a way which is better than I can describe.

The music industry is pretty dumb for not embracing Napster(1) when they could, Napster(1) was willing to pay them over a billion a year in royalties, but instead they wanted to sue them out of existance, basically creating their own problem.

I'll say more on this issue, later
