Man, this Nintendo DS looks amazing. I was wondering if ti would pan out and man has it. They are still talking via live stream but so far:
- It looks awesome physically I thought it would look cheesy but it doesn't.
- It has two screens, one above the other.
- The screens are touch screens! That's right, they respond to touch.
- It has bluetooth, up to 16 DS can communicate at once
- It's Wi-Fi! That's right, you can connect to the net and play people any where!!! Forget just text mesaging, you can send things you draw on the touch screen to people.
- It has a built in microphone. AWESOME!!!
- It plays both DS and Gameboy Advanced games
- It's only $150!!!! It comes out this year!
THe two games I saw demoed were Metroid and Mario.

I should add it looks like it has stero speakers. it also have four buttons on the "front", I presume it has shoulder buttons also.
I'll also say the demoed software was in 3D and looked good. It's steaming, live video so the quality of anything looks grainy but it looks better then N64 graphics.

not sure, they only mentioned GBA and DS games. For some reason I don't think it will play old GB games.

Press conference over. I'm pumped!!! At they end they showed some more DS footage and it does have two shoulder buttons. THey aren't typical shoulder buttons though, they really looke like "buttons" instead of levers. Hard to discrbive but they are red and one the very corner of the DS instead on on top of the corner. I know that makes no sence but with E3 starting tommorrow I presume you will get flooded with pitures soon.

Check that out, has all the specs for it and such. I will actually buy this handheld, it looks awesome. AND WIRELESS?? Also software developers can choose to let a game be shared over wireless so you do not have to own it to play with a friend if they have it.

Looks kick butt. One thing that I have seen is quotes from nintendo people saying the DS is not the next gameboy and that its not going to compete with the next gameboy. Not sure how that is exactly cuase as I see it its a hand held and there is no way it won't compete with a new gameboy. Don't make sence to me.

maybe nintendo is dropping the console market and just going with handhelds? They could be making more than one model, with different features at different prices...

no, they mentioned that there are unannounced featueres of the DS that will tie in with the next Nintendo console so they aren't leaving that market yet.

We'll work something out. The Press conference for the three consoles are up for DL yet. Once they are I'll DL them and maybe upload them to GameHavoc.com via Ferret.
