I heard about that guy on the discovery channel or something. He lost his passport and they wouldnt let him leave the airport or go on another flight out of the country so he was stuck and nobody helped him... unless that was a different story and the movie is totally different...

I went to see this film last night. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Tom Hanks and/or Steven Spielberg. These two have become the best of friends in recent years (or so it would seem) and the work they produce only gets better as time goes on.
This movie is a far cry from dinosaurs or space ships or battlefields. It is the story of a man who is trying to get to America to fullfil the last wish of his dead father, but while he is in the air his country's gov't is overthrown by a coup. The US won't recognise his passport as we don't recognise the new gov't in his country. So he is forced to stay and live (or survive) within the confines of the International Terminal at a NY airport.
He speaks very little English, has no money - that he can spend anyway. So he has to find very inventive ways to manage from day to day. There are dozens of extremely well written comic scenes that most anyone can relate to. The story flows well, doesn't drag at all and makes you really root for this poor schmo thoughout the entire picture.
I loved it and give it 5/5!
