I have a letterhead used in the company I work with. The form is created in Word and has our logo in the header - I think the logo is a jpeg image.

I want to be able to use it to send letters to clients using Outlook, but don't want to send it as an attachment. I would like to be able to sent it in a format that allows clients to see the document simply bu opening the email. A lot of people don't like to open attachments for fear of viruses. Besides, it adds another step that a lot of people don't like to take; ie. double click, save-as, then oppen in Word, etc. It's a pain in the ass. Most would prefer to open Outlook (or AOL, or whatever...) and check their email and get on with their lives.

So my question is, is there a way I can just send this letterhead in a format that opens when they click on the email - without having to open an attachment? I've tried to do it using Word and the email function; and I've tried to create the document using Outlook alone. Both send but omit the header (at least the cool logo).

Best way to do it might be via html. Just put it in as a linked picture.

Put the jpeg up some where.

Then insert the image in the email, linked to where the image is. Should be an "insert picture" thingie somewhere.

Think of all the spam that has images in them. The pictures in them aren't actually in the email, they're linked to a webpage.

It's super easy to do in Outlook 2003.

Tools -> Mail Format Tab -> Check the box named "Use Mircosoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages"

Then, hit Apply and OK, click New to open up a new message. You can then load in a template by going to File -> Open, selecting template in the drop down, and browsing to your template

I got my version from Office XP. I looked in the 'help' link and I've got 2002 Outlook. I can't find what you're talking about SM, is there an upgrade available or a patch or do I need to buy a new version. Gees that would suck!

Office 2003 is the newer, much better, paid version of Office. That functionality may or may not exist in 2002.

if its not plain text, you will find that it is an attachment anyway (so good luck with exchange servers crapping it out as a mail.dat file )
