Guild Wars - Guild creation time?

And I have a number of City of Heroes buds playing as well.

Start a guild? Tag would be GH, of course. Name?

We need a good name (but not have it called gamehavoc). But i can't hink of one.... as a guild, we can even have our very own island (aka our guildhall)!

Gamehavoc is our community name, and why not use it?

It's like if S*F called their community The Redeemeers(a pure example) and their guild S*F. Kinda retarded.

I don't see anything wrong with using the name GameHavoc. I think it shows an extra sense of community.

As for the comment about breaking a fantasy setting, since when does everyone in a game follow a "in-character only" rule for talking? If you're so worried about a guild name "GameHavoc" breaking fantasy settings then it must really irk you when you walk up to two people and they're talking about yesterday's school work while killing a few trolls (or whatever).

GameHavoc is a lot better than some of the names I've seen, like "G@/\/\E|-|@\/1(" for example. Now that's breaking fantasy settings.

But anyway, I doubt I'll be able to ever play this game so don't mind me.

i got a little over 1k gold in storage. i can make the guild and put half in for the capes. also guild halls are (from what i've heard kud0z say) 60k gold.

There's only one "server world" in Guildwars. All areas are considered instances, except Towns and Outposts. These are treated sorta like City of Heros.. Multiple "versions/servers" of the towns/outposts exist and you can switch between them on the fly to meet up with friends. Once you're "out in the game" though, its basicly like a WoW instances and its just you and/or your group.

Guildwars has two modes: Roleplay Characters and PvP characters. Roleplay is normal gameplay mode, you start level 1, level up, gain skills, etc.

PvP characters start at maximum level and can ONLY PvP. They can't play the rest of the game. You have to use their pre-defined character templates, or if you've played the roleplay side of things you can use the skills you gained there and make your own.

PvP involves guilds and tournaments and arenas. It doesn't exist like it normally does in an MMORPG, because players each have their own "server" when they aren't in cities. How can you have 'normal' PvP when the entire world is treated as an instance?

Hey, I said Condition: Zero sucked too... and you harassed me until I bought it. Gee thanks, that wasn't a waste of money, you bastard. :P

Anyhow, what did I say sucked about WoW? Cite an example and I'll tell you if my opinion has changed. Likely not... the graphics in that game are still shitty, regardless of whether or not I've come to enjoy the gameplay.

They give you maximum level BUT unless you unlock skills and items (like runes and weapon upgrades) you're stuck with a very bland PvP charactar.

Thanks to Zantas for chipping in the cash for our fabulous new capes. We came up with the design:
Red faded to black background, silver (as close as we could get it) griffen in the foreground.

It was the only thing with talons. :)
