Okay, this will be a long one.

First, and perhaps most immediately important: I will be on hiatus for the upcoming week. You'll see me posting and such, but I will effectively be MIA as far as game playing or server updating, etc, goes. Busy week RL, with finals and a lot of projects at work. ThriKreen is essentially my #2 guy, so go to him if you need me and I'm not available. If he's not around, hunt down Spurty.

Second.. A note about the Source Forts server.. Due to bugs in how the Source dedicated server works, and bugs in SF itself, when SF crashes it has to be manually restarted. I've been restarting it whenever I noticed, but if I'm not around, hunt down Tech, he can do it as well. I believe Spurty has access as well, but I'm not sure.

Third.. We're test running a CZ server again, just in case anyone is interested. I don't believe we'll be keeping it, but I'm considering putting a mod on it like UWC3, rather than making a CS5. The mod would likely draw a lot of players, and let's be honest: VALVe sucks for charging for CZ, but its still a much better looking game than CS 1.6 .. You can find the server at cz.gamehavoc.com

Fourth.. A clearification on donation rewards: The page says you can get webmail, but it will soon note that if you want I'll give you an address that goes elsewhere, ie, player@gamehavoc.com forwards to player@hotmail.com

Fifth.. GREAT WORK on the donations. We only need $65 more for May, and its only May 2nd. You guys are doing great, and so far this year GameHavoc has stayed above negative. Please keep it up, it helps me out tremendously because the honest truth is I can't pay for GH. If you haven't claimed a donation reward, please do so!

Sixth.. We are still making some decisions on the future line up of the servers. We're hoping with NS 3.1 around the corner that the NS server will regain popularity, as some people get tired of WoW. UT2K4 and CZ are probably very temporary at this time, and will likely be replaced by Battlefield2 when it arrives, if a linux server is available. We are also in the process of hosting a NWN Persistant World, which will become a beta/demo world for ThriKreen's NWN projects. This isn't ready yet though, but keep your eye out.

Seventh and so forth..

GameHavoc has been around for a year now guys. We came from FCS and Spurty's Pub, and many communities before that. We've had some growing pains, lost some folks to time or differences, gain new folks or had old friends return, and are going strong. The community is more active than ever, the servers constantly have players, and we have a strong group of admins. Our donations are steady and strong, and even IRC is hugely active. Check the activity graphs.. Our growth in the past 2-3 months is amazing.

I'm not sure what I want to say about this stuff. GameHavoc is a success in any way I could describe, and that's due to its members. There's so much more I still want to do with the site and all, and I can't wait to see what we pull off in the next year.

Thanks all.

Okay, 40 thread views, 1 reply. This annoys me for some reason. Voice your opinions now, under threat of something horrible.

I am very happy with the experience of playing any of the games on GH servers. Most of the comments I overhear from non-forum attending players are about the high quality of the admin staff. Even the non-admin regular players I see every day will frequently take the time to explain the rules and encourage adherence to them. Congratulations ferret, and everybody else who makes this community possible.

I see and hear all sorts of complaints about nub-admins in game. I haven't played cs much int he past couple of months, though.

Personally, I find the gh experience highly enjoyable. :)

Great job, ferret, Spurty and the other main guys around, thank you. I think you have helped in a lot as well as the other fine ppl that are involved with this community. In some ways I feel a lot of us are like family, hearing about Zoe and what's next as well as others sharing in their life struggles makes it feel more than just a community, it's a family! Ferret, it's great what you have started here. Spurty and Blue, it's been great getting to know you as well. We've got to share in Zoe's and Will's birth. As well as the other stuff that happens here. Let’s keep up the work guys and gals, thanks for the first year and I hope we have many more together!

God bless,
Athena

server for BF2!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!

im gonna preorder off of newegg..... its gonna be about 53 with tax and shipping.... if i preorder from ebgames store near me it will be all of exactly 50 cents cheaper from newegg.... but i have to waste gas to go get it.... and at $2.79 currently for the medium octane (my truck wants the high octance at $2.85) i would spend about 5 bucks in gas to go get it...

it cost me (or really my parents) 66.75ish to fill my 25 gal tank....

welcome to ripping off Californian's because we are overpopulated.

acually its from the requirements passed that force CA to use a certain mix to reduce polution....

but omg BF2 looks so sweet.... i hope my 2500+ Barton and 9600XT can handle it... the vidoes on the EA site are amazing!!!!

Wow, playing on another server made me realize how awesome GH is. I think we take for granted that we have admins on all the time. People suppose that just because they're admins, they're perfect and will make everyone happy. In GameHavoc, the admins make the right "admin" related choices as opposed to just doing what they want when they want.

Thanks, ferret

I lag constantly on gh (its an isp or router issue, I lag on all texas/southern servers, not just gh) but I would still rather pub on a laggy gh than a random server. I think that says a lot. Thanks ferret and pals for such a great community.

Picking up on this (I wanted to say more, but time and circumstance prevents that).

If this happens, I would indeed be surprised if it took too long for people to get into this in a big way.

As for the CZ server, rock on. I love CZ soooo much more than vanilla CS. Now everyone has it (No one was DUMB enough to buy Brozen ... er were they?) I'd like to see more people trying it out. I'll be there for some of that this weekend (Evenings).

I'm a bit busy what with a whole house to bring up to spec/tidy up and gardening (as its spring), but I'll be more active soon enough.

Great to see the community growing and going in the right direction, congratulations to all who make it what it is .. a real community. :D
