Below is a must for everyone playing WoW. This program will fix the AddOns when a new patch for WoW is released. Basically, the version number changes when a patch is applied. This does not match the version number in the *.toc file in each of your add ons. This program will automatically pick up the new version number and change all of the *.toc files.

...or you could just click the "addons" button in the lower left after logging in and turn off "check version compatibility".

Are we talking about the same thing? On the character selection screen, you have the option of turning on/off individual mods, and it lets you know which ones do not meet the current version toc number. I haven't had to use any external program to edit toc's or change the .toc files manually ever.

It is highly recommended to NOT use any programs to change your version # when a new patch comes out. Atleast by the creators of Cosmos :) All you have to do is check the forums when a new patch comes out, and one of the Cosmos creators will post what you need to change your version # too. You simply go in the folder, change the version # and your good to go until later (usually in the same day) when you can autopatch cosmos.

Actually Unrequited.. Your only half right. Don't forget that you have to manually correct Interface/FrameXML/framexml.toc after an update, or WoW will try to delete your entire Interface folder.

Is this cosmos specific? I've used CTMod from day one, and also from day one, I've NEVER had to update any .toc files manually. I read on the Blizzard forums it's not needed and can actually screw up addon dependencies so I just did it by the book. I've never had my interface folder deleted by wow... in fact, I don't even have a \interface\framexml directory.

Must be Cosmos specific then

I just update the version number in one line of one toc file. That prevents the deletion of files.
