View Full Version : What do they do for you in reality?
strength intel stamina. i can see that intelect gives you more mana but does it help anything else, and what does stamina really do. im a mage so i usually buff up on intelect.
and wtf is spirit. does that give you more crits or somthing, just a guess.
intellect helps you level in things faster.
for example.
more intelect is more likely to yield you a point of exp in cooking than if you didnt.
the same is with lockpicking, mining, or any of those.
spirit is the rate at which you regain health and mana. its the regeration rate. and is lame.

I started a long post, but decided I would just link.

Intellect is very important. More intellect more chance to crit. Thats why I go everything Eagle, stacking up on intellect and stamina, plus my enchants.
you dont have to do this, but i want a numbers thing, like for every 10 spirit your mana regens at a rate 10 per second. and at 30 spirit your mana regens at 30 m/s
1 stamina = 10 hit points.
i would bet, but im unsure, that 1 spirit = 1 regen in 5 seconds, NOT 1 per. otherwise we'd be so full at lvl 60 lol
1 intellect is i THINK 20 mana
as i see it now im level 31 and i get about 20 mana a sec.regen
and my mana is one thing i would like to regen faster so i should put into spirit and intellect and bogart the stamina.

Erad has reported that 30 Agility increases your chance to crit by 1%
Also, Stamina is VERY imortant for everyone.
I would just like to note that Shammy's really get the shaft when it comes to armor. Sure we get to use Mail at lvl 40 but too bad Mail at that high lvls doenst usually give bonuses to Intellect (the most important thing for a shammy). Sure if I was a complete Melee Shammy (which im not) I would want strength and agility. But where I stand now I am forced to spread myself out thin across three traits. To really be more powerful at lvl 60 I need to have a lot of bonuses in Agility (for critting with melee), Stamina (to increase the low amount of HP we have), and Intellect (only way I will win a fight is with my magic).

also if you scroll you cursor over the stat name it describes what it does for your particular class, as some stats do different things for different classes, such as agi adds attack power, crit %, dodge %, AC bonus and ranged attack power for rogues, it doesn't add all that for other classes. and if you cursor over the regular attack and dodge skills in your spellbook it will give crit% and dodge% so that you can do your own math by removing and putting back on certain stats
Tech its pretty much a known thing that mages don't use spirit. Go with stamina and intellect. Mana doesn't really regen during fights and in between fights we can just drink water. With more stamina you can last longer in fights. Like I saw your specs for a fight like you use blink. I rarely use blink in PvE. I have so much stamina that i can take the couple of blows easily without even getting hurt allowing me to fight 3-4 guys before I cooldown. So Spirit is not very good. Its why theres an uproar in Mage community because the end level equipment is really intel and spirit and not intell and stamina. Its why you see so man mages using the Illisionary Rod up to like level 55 as their stave. I got mine at like 38 and don't see me using another one anytime soon.
With spirit tap active after i kill something (+100% to spirit) I get around 320spirit ... end up giving me a base mana regen of ~100. Spirit is quite useful.... but only when you have a lot of it :P
kael i think that was for pvp maybe but i like to blink, its fun. if you have room to move in a fight. its about show my friend.

Each race has a language they speak. Horde players are unable to communicate with Alliance players and vice versa except through emotes and teamspeak

Ditto, and I'm level 58. I see it being my endgame weapon unless I obviously get one of the epic staves which are +30int +15stam.

I'm running a stamina/spirit build on my paladin, it's retarded. I regen 25mana per second due to the +75 spirit I have. It makes Pally's REALLY frightening with all the flash heals and consecrations they can do.
Mana regen slows down so much though during fights correct? I am 99% sure it does for mages.

Mana regen stops totally while casting and I think even until 4 seconds later.

Mana regens at normal during battles if you are not casting. If you are casting then mana regen stops, and 5 secs after you cast your last spell the regen continues.
On another note, I think spirit is the most useless thing out there, if I had the choice I would give up every point of spirit and have 0 in order to boost my other stats. That regen is damn near useless, the only use for it is to regen mana in combat. I can live without that, at any other time, I can just eat/drink while outside of battle.
And as for that Illusionary Rod, I was using it until the point where I finished the Plaguelands quest and got that Valiant Shortsword. I use taht not with the Skullspell Orb in offhand which gives me +23 Int in total.
i regen while walking, its fun.

It really depends on your class and what you do. Spirit is amazing for Paladins, Priests & Shamans, but not so much for Mages & Warlocks. I know it sounds far fetched, but imagine having one of those classes who never had to pop a mana pot in combat because their mana regen'd so fast that it's useless.
Also notice, most people who sell spirit enchantments, or spirit based armor, it's almost always more expensive becauseof this reason. It shortens your down time between combat and it helps you out hella much in combat with the mana regen.

Pfft Spirit is not important for a Shammy, the most important trait is Intellect and a close tie (depending on shammy build) is Agility. Personally I wish as a shammy there was more chainmail that had high Intellect buffs. Shamans spells are very inefficent and any extra mana we can get is always a PLUS.

whats retarded? running stamina/spirit or the fact that you chose a paladin :)

Both actually. Paladins are entirely overpowered when in multiples, singles are fine.
i have a lvl 60 warlock, and just started a mage. should be fun.
Intellect - Stamina all the way!
kael enchanted me, he is very sexy, of course i paid my dues with shards :)
well ill hook you up when i get better enchants. Its hard being the guild enchanter and trying to support myself and increase in enchanting. All my gold has been going to get supplies to bulk up my enchanting. Its why I never have more then like 2g on me at lvl 43.
