And Steam, Valve's new content delivery system, was/is garbage.

Man, I hope they don't port HL to the new system and release it with HL2. That'll just force me to spend hours beating the first one again before even booting up the second one. And we all know a delay of a couple of hours will mean soooo much once this game is finally released.

From what I have seen the release date is set for June 30. And from the pictures I've seen look pretty close to the silly "Codename: Gordon", but with added depth to it. ;) I, myself is looking forward to the release.

You people saying that this game won't be released by June 30th are just like all those people that said it wouldn't be released last fall, and again this April. Where are those people now?! Oh...wait...

It comes with CS2...CS2 is the multiplayer for Half-Life 2. There's no longer going to be any HLDM. But come to think of it, there's also no Team Fortress 2, so isn't Valve just repeating history?
Ugh, where do u all get ur crappy info from? Ok, HL2 has a September release Month. It has been confirmed for sometime this summer. PCGamer posted a June 30th date but has since then be retracted. HL, CS and "other popular mods" have been confirmed by Gabe to be ported over to the source engine. All this will be over Steam. I said this in the other HL2 thread. HL2's m-player is confirmed but nothing is known about it. There are rumors of it being TF2 witch i think is possible. Ummmm, I have yet to read anything on anyone working on CS2. The port to the source engine is NOT CS2. Gabe kind of hinted that there would be a CS2 at E3 but it depends on how ur read into what he said. As for steam. Steam is a great piece of software. I love it. I don’t have to spend hours trying to get the latest CS and HL updates. It does it for me. I can see where my friends are playing and just jump right it. Steam has caused me any problems. Some of the problems i see with steam dont have anything to do with steam. All steam is, is a content delivery tool. That is it. BTW codename: Gordon is free. It is cheap and lame but well made.
BTW, i am looking forward to play HL2, i have read a lot about the source engine and Havoc physic engine. I think it will be one of the best games of 04. I truly believe it will be released by the end of the year. I will put $10 wager on it cuz that is all i have at the moment.
almost forgot. TF2 is still in the works. Gabe still has weekly TF2 meeting with the design team. But that is all that is said about the game.
