Hey All:

I don't know if any of your had a chance to check out this demo on xbox live, but I do feel it is worth the hour or so download. You don't really have too many options here, just messing around with the training level, and then completing a skirmish. But it is pretty neat how they have done it.

It is a RTS. Normally, RTS' on consoles are not just terrible, they are like multiple kicks to the testes in terms of selecting units, upgrades and anything else that would normally require a mouse. This one was really different I thought - it uses your voice to select units and tell them what to do. And it worked really well. After a short calibration, I found it picked up on my commands pretty well, and responded almost instantly to what I wanted my protecting units to do. It was pretty bad ass.

What I didn't like was the camera angles. I found them terribly limiting, and almost lagging behind my voice activated death commands. It's one thing to summon units to shoot the choppers out of the sky, but I'd really like to see it.

Overall, it's a neat start to what appears to be an innovative game. Please give it a go and let me know what you think.

cheers

-d.

i'm very intrigued, but with so many other games currently out, and so many otheres just a week or so away, i think this will be a 'rent in 2 months' deal, like Gears of War 2.

i luckily played the hell out of fable 2, and was able to beat it in a week. still a lot of content that got left unfinished when i built my new box, and then got fallout 3.

i should be able to finish fallout 3 this week, just in time for CoD:WaW and WoW:WoTLK.

I'm still scrimming nightly, and matching weekly in one six, so my multiplayer addiction is well tended to. :P
