There seems to be some tension and anger due to the fact that I'm playing on Lightbringer, when I started on Laughing Skull, and that other GH members are also there now.
So let me explain a few things about why I'm on Lightbringer.
First, my wife, whom unfortunately for you does take precedence over the other members of the community, plays there. She plays there because its non-PvP, and because she likes the Alliance characters more than the Horde characters. She's also red-orange color blind and although she tried to play on LS, couldn't see anything in Durotar.
Second, I didn't go there first. Some others were not enjoying the open PvP elements of Laughing Skull and were asking about another server to play. I told them Kamie was already on Lightbringer if they didn't want PvP or Horde. Since not everyone WANTS to play PvP, or Horde, and many people had been asking about a server to play Alliance on, because they didn't want to be Horde, I said "Why not go to Lightbringer?"
Third, I have about 4 family members playing on Lightbringer, also because they didn't want PvP or Horde. These are family members I'm on quite good standings with and enjoy spending time with.
Fourth, as I saw someone complain on IRC, yes, I do have extreme lag on Laughing Skull, which was the final nail in the coffin. When I started playing there I had great ping and everything was fine. Now when I play it takes things forever to appear on my screen. I can walk in a straight line and have NPCs appear next to me rather in the distance. I'm sorry if you don't consider this a valid reason to play on another server, but I'm paying a monthly fee for this game, and I'm going to get my money's worth.
Now. If anyone else has a problem with Gamehavoc being "split up" .. I'm sorry to say but that's just the way it is. Some people like Alliance, some people like Horde. Personally I like both, and will from time to time still play my Laughing Skull characters, because I like them, lag permitting.
If there are people who have quit playing on LS to follow me to LB, because I'm the community "leader", I simply can't help that. To my knowledge all but three of the Gamehavoc people on Lightbringer started there, and only me, ds91, and Spurty (Who's quit WoW anyways), switched from Laughing Skull. The others wanted to play Alliance from the start.
Anyone on Laughing Skull is welcome to come to Lightbringer when they want to try an Alliance character. I would certainly hope the reverse is true and if any of the Lightbringer players want to play go play Horde they'll be welcome on Laughing Skull. As a final note, I'd like to point out that there are many many members of this community that aren't playing on either Laughing Skull OR Lightbringer.
I've become quite..annoyed.. of late with this community in general, in some regards. I wish we all took the "community" part of it a little more seriously, and didn't spend all our time insulting each other or having arguments. I put a lot of time and effort in running this site and keeping the community together, whether its appreciated or not. I'd like to see some more effort from others.
