I have an LCD monitor, ViewSonic... and ever since I installed the new nvidia drivers I HAVE SCANLINES AND CRAPPY AS HELL performance on all my games. Ive tried going back to old drivers, and changeing the HZ rate and refresh rates to no avail. It looks fine at desktop, but as soon as I boot up a game POW there they are. GAR.

Asus FX 5600 256 meg ram
Windows 2000 pro
AMD athlon xp 2200
512 meg ram
nforce asus motherboard

When I first put this machine together, it kicked massive ass, but now it is lagging harder then my 386. Should I take a sledge hammer to it?

vertical lines across the screen that move from the bottom up... like on a really old TV, or watching pc monitor that is on tv.

VSync doesn't really exist on LCD's as there is no ray tube that has a beam travelling from the top to bottom at a certain rate.

I'd say, uninstall the nvidia drivers and use something like Driver Cleaner to remove any legacy driver files which may affect the system before reinstalling them.

The new nvida drivers suck. I had major problems with them. Do a clean install of the older driver like thrikreen said. That fixed my problems.
