there is a possibility that i will be working in the United Arab Emarites for 2 years and i want to buy an X-Box 360 to bring over there with me. am i better to buy one there? i know that they are using 220V as oppossed to our 120V but the power supply adapter should handle that. i have also heard that you cant just plug a box bought over here into a TV bought over there. is there any truth to this? if so, is there an adapter that can be bought or am i better to buy one when i get there?

PAL vs NTSC. Buy one there.

Does the 360 have a power brick? If so, I would just buy a new power brick in the UAE. I'm not sure of the TV hookup. I know you need to convert videos and DVDs from PAL to NTSC, but when I was in Poland, I had no problem hooking up my digital camera (2 years ago) or my folks' camcorder (15 years ago) using RCA connectors. Coax cable would not have worked.

Keep in mind it may cost you a good amount more than it would here. I know many work and travel students will purchase technology in the U.S and bring it back with them to resell.

Region coded DVD FTL. I think that the games may be region coded just so you know. Might be something to look into.

http://malaysia.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080216200210AA0uJEN&show=7 was all I found in 5 seconds of Googling.

Give it a try and see what you can find. Go to Xbox forums and make a post.
