I'm on a binge, I've been watching a ton of anime lately (nothing to do for a month). Any recommendations?
Here's what I've been keeping up with:
Bleach
Naruto Ship
Anime I've just finished:
Suzuka (Good, a little annoying, too short)
Zero no Tsukaima (Good, cute, almost too 'happy', waiting for next season)
Full Metal Panic (Second watch through, Good, way too quick, not enough character development)
Golden Boy (Second watch through, Excellent, almost too much like hentai but OK)
Anime I can't finish because it didn't really catch me:
Get Backers (too low budget, disappointment, 15 episodes in)
Thinking about:
School Days
FMP Fumoffu
FMP Second Raid
Princess Tutu (DON'T LAUGH IT LOOKS DECENT)
Speed Grapher (don't know if I'm a fan of the main character)
Oldschool gundam
Definitely a fan of the harem genre, but don't think I can stand another high school harem anime. I'm really entertained by the obnoxious styles like in Golden Boy or FLCL, and I'm looking for something geared for someone older than 16. I don't know if I can stand another depressed 16 year old being a little bitch. Something like Elfen Lied would be cool. But it needs to have a good production value. I thought Ghost in the shell tv series was OK, but suffered way too much from 'talking head' syndrome.

G Gundam, and Big O to name a couple. Big O has 2 seasons, but season 2 wasn't the "official" second season, it was "Adult Swim's version" of it. People are getting a petition to get Sunrise to make a "real" second season, which I am dying for. http://www.freewebs.com/seebach/

I remember watching some episodes of G Gundam, I need to investigate more.
I wasn't so crazy about Big 0, I'm really picky when it comes to what 'feels' like cheap animation (characters holding poses for half the episode while they talk ala DBZ). The story line for each episodes where interesting, but at the same time hit or miss since there was no real continuing plot.

I've always hated the Gundam series. And Big O.

Theres Gundam 00 series which is supposed to be set before the original series in the overall story line.
If your lookin for somthing mature with lots of blood and action theres Gantz. New show that just started called Bus Gamer thats seems interesting.
berserk is good, havent seen it in a long time should really watch it again

Mai HiME (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4155), Mai Otome (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5378), Mai Otome Zwei (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6446) (should follow in that order or you will be confused)
Love Hina (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=168), Love Hina Again (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=303)(Probably the best example of harem and violence put into one series.)
Shakugan no Shana (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5943), Shakugan no Shana II (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7847) (violence, blood, good character development, some mushy stuff)
Scryed (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=842) (This is one of my personal favorites)
Fate/Stay Night (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5394) (This one is just filled with awesomeness. Especially when you get to guess which mythical "hero" each of the "servents" are.)
These are the only ones I can think of at the moment. Ask ThriKreen, I'm sure he can think of a few more.
I just watched one called Lucky Star. Its one of those Slice of Life animes.
Now I am on Minami-ke, which is the same type of anime. Another one is Azumanga Daioh.
Try School Rumble also, its an odd little high school comedy, but interesting enough :D.
Want little more action but something not serious you could always try Slayers or One Piece. Slayers is like 73 epis, and one piece is around 300 episodes, so they would keep you busy.
I would also suggest PlanetES or Samurai 7.

Thanks for the recs. Actually seen a lot of those already! I think Love Hina was the first harem series I watched and got me hooked. Scyred was OK, but suffered drastically to poor animation, it had so much potential :(
I wouldn't watch One Piece if I was paid with bundles of money and hot woman in nurse/maid outfits.
Currently on the DL que:
Higurashi (looks good and violent)
Evangelion Rebuild 1.0 (SCHWEET)
Currently on the netflix que:
Evengelion Series
FF7 Advent Children
Whats wrong with one piece?

That movie never gets old. I got it on DVD right when it came out XD. Much better than Final Fantasy Spirits Within.

Eva is overrated. Look up nadesico and vandread.

I enjoyed and actually own the Eva series, but if your trying to avoid a series with a depressed 16 year old acting like a little bitch then you might want to avoid Eva.
Not only is the main character a depressed 16 year old bitch, but he also has daddy issues and thinks saving the world will buy daddy's love.

This will be my third watch of the series, except I'm going to marathon it from beginning to end (I always seem to miss stuff). Going to watch it with Jap lang with subs, I can't stand the english actor whining like that.
Whats wrong with one piece?
Everything.

Own Nadesico, seen all of Vandread. Both very entertaining, but good recs nonetheless.

Then go find Claymore. The manga is better, but I still enjoyed a watch through the first season.
Outlaw Star, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Hellsing are more. Hellsing's series defers radicially from the manga but I still liked it. There's an OVA series in progress now that's doing a more faithful following of the original material.
FMA is great (Doesn't fully follow manga but still good). Trigun is great (But again, the manga is better, as the anime was done before the manga finished, so again.. plot diversions)

I still have to fully watch outlaw star. When toonami aired it, I watched only a handfull, and was interested. Then they aired it at a time slot where I was not even home yet from school.

Bought Outlaw Star on dvd, watching through it now. Always missed a few episodes, including the last four, whenever it was on TV.
Yotsuba is very good, manga only. Download that off 4chan.biz.
How is Yakitate Japan? An animation about... Bread making seems odd/retarded.
Really want to see Aria, the artwork seems to be very nice.

SH I know baking bread seems boring but they did a really good job watch a few episodes!
Also Eyeshield 21.
Though I'm displeased in the anime since the quality is going to shit....

Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=123) (remake of the original OAV) This one freaked me out and gave me nightmares near the end.... I really should rewatch this one.

Yakitate!! Japan rawks, you really need to see it, it's poking fun at the all the "battle" series (DBZ, etc) while in itself also a hilarious series about bread making.
Especially the reactions that the judges have when tasting the food.

Reactions in general just made the entire show into sheer hilarity!
