This kind of technological improvement (Stability via reduction of heating issues) is what will bring me around to buying a PS3.

Of course, the fact its Blu-ray doesn't hurt either, but the cooling issues are more mundane and yet prominent to me as a house owner. I think about these things a lot.

Anyway, people who don't have a mortgage and a house will benefit as well from the price drop as well, which is nice.

Now if they could just get some games on the System that are worth playing / forking out the money for!

Issue currently is that Sony hasn't said that they'll be reducing the PS3 price yet. It's possible (although not likely) that they can just ride the lower production costs to recoup some of their losses over the past year.

They just shrunk the cpu to 65nm, now they are already jumping on 45nm?
Not only that, Sony said Nvidia hasn't said anything about shrinking the GPU.

is Turok a ps3 exclusive? i couldn't tell with the commercials that keep flashing across the television screen...
