Does anyone play CS 1.6 anymore or has everyone moved on to other games? I have been away for a couple months, periodically checking the FCS servers and they always seemed empty.

FCS except in the mornings on the custom servers is pretty much dead currently. Everyone plays on TFC. 66.150.107.32:27015

In the morning we do have a regular crew of Athena and Me and occassionally Yolkfolk hehe.

I used to play FCS in the mornings, but I got me a Gamecube and that's been taking up too much of my time. I tried playing early this morning, but no one was around at 4:30 am.

I still play 1.6 and I am getting into CZ more now that amx_mod is on the gh server. I too am sad to see the cs1 and cs2 servers empty empty all the time. Hopefully they will pick up a little in the near future.

I have visited TFC on occation, but it just doesn't feel the same. Not trying to knock anyone here, just how I feel. Besides, I haven't heard outkast voice his support of gh yet.

Yeah i've been playing Xbox and some UT2k4 right now. I havent had steam open for around a week or so. I wouldnt say CS is dying, theres just a lot of new stuff coming out that people are playing. Once they get old, people always return to CS ;)

Unfortunately, I stopped playing when I started college a couple years ago due to a connection that couldn't support it. I still play at LANs sometimes, but mostly I play the slower online games now. I.E. WoW Beta. But back in my day I was teh l33t3st.

every game eventually gets boring after extreme hours and hours and hours of playing. then people either move back to older games, or pick up new ones.

I've been stupidly busy the past 2 weeks with my grandma's birthday (and restoring her photo) and an anime con the weekend after that, which I just got back from.

On another note my feet hurt, someone come over and massage them.

I support gamehavoc... and would love TFC to be the CS part of it. I'm still confused over some of the implementing yet though. Like as far as server admining goes... I'm not sure merging all HL based games into one large group is the best idea. It would be very hard to implement a way for a CS server in Chi to fetch admin data in Dalas. I think the best way to go about it would actually be to divide the HL base stuff up into their own games. After all some of the games are very different, and not many people play all of them. Some people really only have their one or two games they play. I would like to see GH develop into a community that has many smaller communities where people aren't limited to how many they could be in. That would work the best. We already have the game managers. Me for CS, HPLPB for Q2, another for UT2K4 and so on.... Each game manager can treat their game as a seperate part of a large group. It would work great.

Ok a good model for how we can keep one community with different divisions would be this. I hate posting this because the only thing these people here have is a good idea. Other than that it is very shitty management and stuff. Too many 14 year olds in a community like the one I'm going to post, but GH is different. It has resources such as servers that this site is lacking, and it has decent management in "grown up" people like Ferret, Shaft, me, and the other game managers (I'm bad with names). What do people think?

most FCS people that played cs went to www.tfcgaming.com

outkast134
05-31-2004, 06:13 AM
I'm talking about using that other site as a model to shape Game Havoc, not actually going there and joining. It has a good idea, but like I said it lacks the ability. What we could do is use our ability to make that idea excel.

I think the idea behind this Outkast is that you would still run the CS servers and make all the decisions based on them. You would still decide who would be admins and what rules are there. The whole deal earlier was *US* the players, not ferret, the man in charge, tossing out ideas and speculating.

Would I like to see some of the FCS admins and rules adopted into TFC, definetly its what I'm used to playing with and am comfortable with. However, ultimately that is YOUR decision. At the very least I'd like you to take a hard look at UFFC tk system, I think you might actually really like it and want to use it. But by no means are we or were we ever intending to take your server from you and change things up. It was merely ideas being tossed around.

We definetly want ya onboard here as most everyone here plays on TFC anyway. Just a matter of all the "adults" as you say to sit down and decide if any changes need to be made or if any of the FCS admins would be fitting admins for TFC in your eyes as well. Personally I always say as long as they are all good peeps you can never have too many admins.

05-31-2004, 12:13 PM
I am one of those FCS people that moved to TFC for CS, but I miss the FCS/GH community and at times, my admin. If TFC was integrated into GH, it would be perfect.

outkast134
05-31-2004, 01:41 PM
I am starting to take on some FCS admins. Right now there is only a handful that have asked.

Those are:

[eieio]Pig
[NAKED] J.A.C
Frogczar
S.e.V.e.N

Other FCS regs that already had admin (mainly because they were a reg at both servers) are:

boomsling
Athena[GRLS]
malius
[DSS]Gracey
steaLer
Whiskey_Bob
[DSS]Stinger
[NAKED] Wang - Chung

I'm just saying that it would be tough to manage, maintain, and fullfiill the needs of a CS server and its clients from a "HL Games" category in the GH forum. Things that were required to be admin previously were that you submit a form with your information filled in from the TFC website, and that you be a member of the TFC forums. Soon admin will be changed so that all you have to do is be in the admins group and have your steamid field filled in like how FCS did it. TFC already has / had all of the things in place to be able to do that. I think the best thing to do is to just make forum or website userid/password the same for all of the web based login stuff. That way people don't have to sign up and be members of multiple accounts.

You could do what Darien did for Chi-Mayhem...where no one under the age of 18 can have admin, which would lessen the admin abuse some and promote maturity.

I never said it would completely fix the problem, but it would weed out a major part of abusers. The rest could be under heavy observation of admins and have the possible admin take a test via a webform to see how they would act in a situation. 3 wrong answers = no admin. It'd be tough, but it'd get rid of a good deal of admins.

Its a simple fact. Dell has some nicely priced low end systems but once you get to anything remotely considered 'high performance' they overcharge a huge amount. Kamie has an old Dell, was an 800mhz P-3 128meg machine with an ATi Rage Pro 16meg AGP. I've since upgraded it to a 1ghz P-3, 256megs of RAM, and an ATi Radeon 9000 Pro. Quite a respectable little machine now though the newest batch of games put it through its paced.

I like how they shaft you on the case, mobo, power supply. At least, on the old ones.

Like how they make specialized cases / mobo / power supply for each configuration option. If you don't pay for extra devices initially, they'll make it physically hard, if not impossible, to upgrade.

With Dell, at BEST, you get what you pay for. At worst, you get a lot less then you pay for.

If you're going to be a pansy and buy a pre-build, Dell is the last way to go. HP / Sony.

However, I'll give Dell one thing. Their service plan isn't bad (in terms of service, don't know about price). You can abuse your machine to Hell and back physically, and if it's still under the service, they'll replace it.

you should have gone with the 8600. I got the Dimension 8300 Series,Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 3.4GHz ht tech, with 512MB DDR SDRAM at 400MHz. All for $1,379.82 I also took advantage of the free flat screen offer. It's upgradable to over 4 gig of ram, and it would only cost me about $200 dollars more to make it a gig.
