k like, my brother borrowed my car today since my moms car didn't have gas in it and he got in a wreck and now i can't drive my car. it's not a serious wreck (no other people involved just him and the guard rail) but i know it was because his lazy punk ass can't get up early and so he speeds to work and now i have no car till it gets fixed. and somehow he spun the car.

Hence why my brother isn't allowed to drive my cars. Everyone he's touched is covered in dents and/or not running.
Should have let him take his chances with the low gas tank. :)

My brother and I have never and will never drive each other's car for just that reason. If something happens, we'd rather we screw up our car rather then the other.

well my mom told him to take my car (i wasn't awake yet) so i didn't have a choice in the matter with MY OWN CAR.
ya know, my brother is much like yours. he's killed 3 cars in less than a year, but he's been good with my moms car (other than like 4 speeding tickets).
he even got a speeding ticket when the policeman showed up

Buy a car with a manual transmission. Other than me, one other person drove my car one time for 3 minutes because no one in my family knows how to drive it. My parents still bang the hell out of my doors because they can't grasp the concept that the doors on a two door are a little bit larger than the doors on a four door.
On a slightly related story, my aunt wrecked my cousin's car on the day of her other son's wedding (not her fualt, though). Man was he pissed... Til he realized his brother was leaving on his honeymoon the next day and leaving his BMW around. Then, he was happy.

trust me, manuals are SOOOO much more fun that automatics. I didnt want to learn at first because it would just be a pain in the ass, but once you get the hang of it its great :D

I couldn't drive stick until I bought my car and had to drive it home. That was sooo much fun.

I used to be able to, though not terribly good at it. I've got an automatic now, and I like it too much to worry about it not being manual. Love my little car, vroom vroom.

Its like how my friends dad custom ordered a WRX to have an automatic transmission...non of us want to drive it, it would ruin the experience

That car? Waste? HAH. Its enough to hit 110 on the interstate with no issue whatsoever. God forbid I ever drive on I-16.. Its 300 miles of straightaway.. speedometer goes to 160 :(
Its a '99 Celica GT, I got it for $14.5k. List cost: $26.4k. Number of miles when I purchased? 33k. Not a goddamn scratch on it. It was a lease vehical originally, the guy practically never drove it, so I pretty much got a fully loaded '99 Celica for brand new, 5 years after it was made. I'm still amazed I found it.
It has all the following, which are factory options that are nearly impossible to find these days: Leather interior, sunroof, ABS, flood lights, sports suspension, customly ordered with center arm adjusted an inch higher (Which ironically is just perfect for me). rgr.
When I found this car, I was searching for others online. Nation-wide, I only found about 50 '99 GTs available. This one was in Maryland, I flew there with my dad and we drove it back. 700 miles at 90+mph is a hell of a burn in :)

It is when you buzz past heavily customized Honda Civics with ease :P God I hate those dorks.
In Atlanta traffic, even an automatic is fun, though ;p I don't care about shifting gears, its all about lane changes ;P Atlanta is all bumper to bumper stop-and-go, or full out 80-90+mph. Neither of those situations needs shifting, you're either stuck in 2nd for the first situation, or already at the top for the other.

well yeah traffic is no fun with a standard, but other than that its a blast.
and omg you speak so true about the civics... i gotta find pics of some kids car at my school, its rediculous. It looks like he turned it into the bat mobile.

there you go, thats some profile he made about his car. Its retarded. I'm actually kinda pissed, he himself is calling it the batmobile now. And thats apparently because of me. In the yearbook "remember when..." section, i submitted "Remember when justin turned his car into the batmobile?" and now everyone calls it that.

I never understood why people put larger foilers are vehicals that can barely hit 110, let alone are aerodynamic enough that they might produce any lift that truly needs countered.
Mine has a small ying on the back, but its just cosmetic. Putting a real wing on there doesn't look cool or cosmetic, it just looks dumb because you've got something 'functional' on your car that doesn't 'function' because your car SUCKS.
Only those 'Si' models have any power to them, and these days those are humpbacks, I believe. You don't see anyone customizing those, do you? :P So that means any Honda Civic you see today that's post 2000 can probably be outrun by a Corolla (Speaking of which, the '04 corollas are pretty nice, I gots one too)
My car's a rock. It doesn't need a foiler, it weights too damn much to 'lift' ;p

Yeah my car blows, i cant imagine having fun driving it if it werent for the fact that its a manual. It's pretty slow, and i usually get overtaken by minivans, but at least its fun as hell to drive.

I had a freind who had a Civic. It had no body/speed modifications and the only stickers on it were from obscure punk-rock bands. Plus his passenger door didn't close properly cause it was opened into a solid steel post one time. The moral is, not all Civics are crappy ricers.
Question: If I had to buy a new car today, it'd be an Acura RSX Type-S, despite my irrational dislike of all Honda cars (I like the motorcycles and wave runners). Would people automatically label me a a ricer, even if I plan on doing 0 modifications on the car?

Neg, rice is be definition anything you do to a car that has 0 affect on performance, and is entirely for looks. If you dont do any mods to the car, its just the stock car, no rice.

Cool. My concern is that if I ever do get around to buying one, I'll be able to find one without all the factory installed spoilers and skirts and air dams. I really like the car in the stock configuration and hate the car with all the available cosmetic options. I do like how all the spoilers and skirts and such are listed as cosmetic, not perfomance, upgrades on the Acura website.

Spyder,
STFU please! I am begging you. You have no idea how much searching my ferret did for that car. He even went from GA to MD to get it. And I just smiled and let him do it because it meant THAT MUCH to him. So please, for the love of peace on the forums, STFU.
And I mean STFU as nicely as I can and without any mallice. :)
