i'm surprised a discussion about the book hasnt been started on the forums. i finished reading the book last night and couldnt understand why the book was so controversial. many of the ideas the book puts forth have been discussed before including the possible romatic relationship jesus had with mary magdalene but what really got me interested where the paintings by da vinci brown mentioned in the book. is there any documentation that proves da vinci purposely put hidden symbols in his paitings? in "the last supper" you can clearly see that the person on the right hand side of jesus IS a woman and the dagger behind judas' back along with the symbolic "grail"

putting hidden meaning into art is older than Da Vinci. The Romans used to put messages in tatoos on slaves.
Some of the more forgotten hidden messages are in company names and logos
For example, 'metal balls' mean one thing, 'swooshes' mean another.
400 years ago, the Nike log would mean they were into Witchcraft and devil worship. :)

I just started reading this book after hearing a lot about it from my father. I think it's very interesting and am also surprised that there hasn't been a thread about it. I'm very interested in hearing what you all have to say about the book and what your feelings are on the "discoveries."
Well, for those of us who havent read the book and dont really know anything about what it has to say, could someone post a brief summary?
