If you are an anime fan, this short 5 OVA long series is FANTASTIC. The CGI and animations are jaw dropping. The acting/characters etc are GREAT. Again, if you area an anime fan, you should really watch this series.
Macross Zero takes place prior to Macross superdimensional fortress (NOT battletech american recombobulation). The war between the UN and the Anti UN after the Macross Ship came to earth. You have to see this series.

It's all about transforming in mid-air, shooting down a batch of swirly missiles and firing your own batch back at the other guy!

Animeigo has the original Super Dimensional Fortress Macross TV series as a DVD boxed set, it's sitting on my shelf at the moment. Honestly, I do miss the music from Robotech, it's much better than the music in SDF Macross - especially the opening theme. =)
Squeak, if I ever win the lottery, I want to make a spherical cockpit surrounded by LCD screens similar to Macross Plus' YF-19 design with a proper mecha action game system, with context-sensitive throttle stick as we've seen in Macross Zero.
Still have yet to play a mecha game that has the same feel as in an anime...

you COULD try out Steel Battalion for the XboX...if you dont mind dishing out 200 bucks for it.
It comes with a 40 button, 2 joystic controler, and a 3 foot peddle set up. Then theres teh sequal wich has online play...and only costs 50.
anywho the setup sounds like the awsum Thri.

I have the entire US release of Robotech on DVD :/ It was super cheap, ilke $50 for all three generations, because they're the dubs with no extras. Since I watched it on tv as a kid though this was one anime the dubs didn't really bother me about..
