Forum for WoW?

Is there enough community interest in WoW to warrant a seperate forum for it?

...I actually voted no. AFAIK only a couple HAD guys and the S*F that play here are playing WoW. If more want to join up, by all means, S*F and I would love to have you on Central PVP - Mal'Ganis. But for a separate forum? I dunno, I guess it can't hurt, just don't see the point heh.

Well, it'd just be a central point for anyone who plays to post in, but since most people are playing as parts of clans (whom have their own sites) and not really as part of the community, you're probably right.

I voted yes, but I agree with unrequited.
An extra forum could be a nice meeting place for the different guilds and recruiting new players, but its not like the MMORPG forum is being over used.

I voted yes... but thinking back on it... I can't reason why. It's not like we host a WoW server... and we do have an mmorpg forum.

I say yes because even with the mmorpgs forum, I had to drudge through alot of non-wow stuff because mozilla doesnt like to tell me there are new threads.

I voted no for the same reasons as Christopher. I just don't see enough people from this community playing it. I really like the idea, but I see myself and a few others being the only ones using it, hehe. =).

Dont join Mal'Ganis it is heavily populated. Join "Laughing Skull' most GH ppl are on Laughing Skull, however all of the S*K ppl are on Mal'Ganis (only a few are gh members).

Answer to Tech's question: Pay for the game (CE or Regular, $50 or $80), then pay monthly about $13.

Also, Nub Strike, make your mind up who u want to play with. No matter where you play you will have fun. I played with the SF ppl for a few days and they were great to group with. Over at Laughing Skull we have lots of fun also. All depends who u want to play with.

Well i am trying to decide between hl2 and this. If you guys had a forum it would be a great help. You could make guides and strats ect. It would also attract more people that you recomend here from WOW to register and stay. I played UO for awhile and it was fun till they made it so you had to have to worlds a pvp and a nonpvp world. I love pvp clan fights and hate none pvp play. So that would tell me what i would do.

There's no comparison... HL2 is the best game I've ever played... ever. But they're two separate games. Just think, until this past summer, we were all playing HL1 (or a derivative of it) for the past 6 years... I expect HL2 to last that long, but I don't expect WoW to...

I know there is no real comparison. It's just that i am sick of 1st person shooters i think. I am really not conviced that hl2 will make me wanna play them more. WOW maybe what i need to get rid of this burnt out feeling i have towards them. I am still trying to decide.

True, HL2 is the best game out right now, but you have to remember these two games are completely different. Like unrequited said, no comparision. HL2 will leave a great taste in your mouth for years to come, while Im sure WoW will begin to fizzle after about a year like most mmorpgs do. However, WoW is quite intense and byfar one of the best mmorpgs Ive played to date. Too bad you couldnt find a friend who had the CE and try it for 10 days. :-(

Booo. As Unreq said, we have a medium population now and no lag. Haven't had a queue since it's come back up. I saw NewBreed and Ritz on the other day, so I know we've at least got a couple GH members there. I'm not trying to sway people to come join us over you, hehe, I just think it's good to know these things too.

As for WoW fizzling out over a year, yeah, there's always that possibility like everything MMORPG, but S*F has been playing this game since April, so I can't imagine us "fizzling." We fizzled out of SWG for the obvious reason that the game was not ready for release when it came out. WoW is contrary. We fizzled out of DAOC after over a year or 2 after Andred (a PvP nightmare). WoW is the contrary. So really, I can't see that happening.

Mithis, if you're looking for a slower pace from games, I recommend WoW. I had to give up FPS's because of my connection at school, but MMORPG's are a nice change of pace. The style is very different and more in depth. Both games will probably be around for awhile, so don't feel like you have to make a choice for life. The only way I see WoW fading away is if there's a bigger and better game (which is an option that DOES happen in the industry a lot).

This is the exact reason I decided to play WoW Mithis. I feel the change of pace is nice. Plus when I do play CS/CSS/HL2 I feel its a little more fun. I realized the other evening I screw all of my ability to control fps cause of MMORPGs but oh well.

Forum created. 90% of the activity in the other forum was WoW related, at least for now. At worse, I deleted the forum and all the posts shift back, so nothing to lose in creating it.
