If Fox News is so biased to the right, why does it get the highest ratings during both the DNC and the RNC? That's becuase it might be more to the right of the rest of the media (which is pretty left wing) but is a shill for no one.
I think Terry McAuliffe - Chairman of the DNC says it best:
"I have no issues with Fox. Listen, you let me come on any time I want."
He did say they are a little slanted, and they probably are... do i think they are a front or a shill... no way... do they take marching orders from the RNC... no... are they way to the right of the rest of the extremely left leaning press? Obviously.
Fox News might have somewhat of a conservative slant, but they explore all sides of any given topic, they have many liberals as well as conservatives. They have Dick Morris (who worked for clinton) as a political analyst... if they were some propaganda arm of the RNC, would they have this? Would they have Alan Colmes and Greta Van Sustren to balance out the evening lineup? Would they balance out the guests to have one from each side nearly all the time on the debate shows? Obviously not... but do they? Yes.
In fact, there are a few people who absolutely REFUSE to discuss their political views. Sheppard Smith for instance... he's been being jabbed at and barbed for quite a long time by Neil Cavuto to try to get him to reveal his political affiliation. He's said (inexact quote): "If i tell you i'm a conservative... everyone will go out and say 'there's sheppard smith, that conservative going on again' and if i say i'm liberal the other side will do the same thing.. " and he refused to say.
Also... if you dont believe a media slant to the left... that's a crock... look at CNN for instance... they have two people who are STILL ON THE PAYROLL working for the KERRY CAMPAIGN... or at the New York Times, who buries memo-gate on page a28.
In total, Fox News may be way to the right of the rest of the media, but they are far closer to the center than anyone else. Their attempts to balance themselves out lends credance to that.

Did anybody actually WATCH the interviews? It's former producers and segment directors who had orders handed down above to say the things they said, and produce the news they do. RTFA or WTFF (watch the effin' film).

I only watched part of the clip but I've seen the whole outfoxed documentary so I feel I can speak.
First off that documentary is funded by moveon.org. Talk about being a hypocrite, moveon.org is one of the most bias and destructive forces in politics today. Right now MoveOn.Org is taking Fox News to court of the slogan "Fair and Balanced". I understand if you don't like that slogan but to take Fox News to court? This documentary in my opinion is a good example how they are willing to throw money at anything that will help stall the republican word. It's a shoddy documentary that really doesn't talk about Rupert Murdoch that much and is anything but "fair & balanced".
With that said, Fox News is the most bias news network around. It is like the NY post. It's fun, trashy, journalism. Like the Post it also never truly tries to pretend it's more then it is. People like Sean Hannity will say things like "Only x amount of days till we get Bush reelected". They don't hide their point of view. Try to find anyone who goes on Fox News though who said they couldn't speak their mind. They regularly have people on the left on and they let them speak.
I compare it to the Real Time with Bill Maher. He is anything but on the right and I have never seen a time where two of his three panel guest aren't leftist. Real Time's audience boos conservative who are on, they praise Michael Moore, and really have little chance of ever having their ideas changed by what the righties say on the show. That said Real Time does have righties on the show, does let them speak, and doesn't put grade F righties in hope they make their side's views look bad.
Fox News might more to the right then any other network is to the left but at least they admit it. The problem is there are so many networks to the left and none of them admit that they are so. This whole "are these reports fake, are they not fake" should be a much bigger issue. You know CBS isn't gonna make an issue out of it though, that makes them look bad for buying into it. Why isn't NBC or ABC getting more into this issue? Ted Kopel himself on Nightline got mad at his network for not looking into the issue more. Also if you think only Fox News can have their strings pulled from above (and I'll go on the record that outfoxed way over states this fact on Outfoxed) the go rent The Insider. It tells the story about 60 minutes pulling a story on how bad cigarettes are for you since Phillip Morris threatened to pull all their commercials from the network.
The treatment of MoveOn.org is another good example of how lefty the main stream media can be. I actually like Howard Dean to a certain extent, he spoke his mind and wasn't geared by polls. Fact is though without MoveOn.org being his muscle he wouldn't be a household name today. MoveOn.org help slander all candidates in his way. Once Kerry put Dean to rest MoveOn.org changed gears and backs Kerry now with constant slander campaigns vs Bush. MoveOn.org made the blueprint for how to abuse the loopholes with 527 groups. Did the media ever jump on this? No. Did the media ever say these slander stories are from a bias 527 group? No. MONTHS later a republican 527 group comes out and slanders Kerry's Vietnam record and all of the sudden 527 groups are horrible according to the media. Hey, why weren't they horrible when they were going after Bush full steam? ONE comes out and slanders Kerry and the press throw a hissy fit. Now you have hard hitting journalism looking into 527 and books being written how to fix the problem.
OutFoxed is nothing but slander funded by one of the biggest slander pushers in politics today. It's sole goal is to stunt Fox News so the lefties media can speak unstilted. It makes claims like only Fox announced Bush won Florida (two of the three main networks declared Florida Bush's). If it truly want Fox to be fair OutFoxed would state that Fox News is reporting only some facts, or skewed facts of the war in Iraq. Instead in says, and I paraphrase, "Fox News is bias since it won't say Bush screwed up with the war." Its ok to think Bush screwed up but if you want unbiased journalism a new source shouldn't state that opinion. To do so would be as bad as to say Bush is doing great. A large part of OutFoxed is solely focused on trying to get the view to "rise up" and stop Fox News and other anti MoveOn.org media outslets from being on the air. OutFoxed tell you to litterally go stand in front of Fox News and protest. It tells you to write your senator and call your cable operator and tell them to take Fox News off the air or they'll lose their vote/money. What, this is suppose to be a unbias documentary and it's pleading with it's audience to take action against the companys that are against the funders of the documentary?
OutFoxed isn't meant to inform, it's meant to tear down a MoveOn.org opponent. It's trash and should be treated as such.

Ok, just to be clear about who is and who isn't in cloud coo-coo land ..
Does anyone here still believe Reporting Media (people who make money by reporting stories, therefore have a vested interest in getting the stories which will sell) is unbiased?
Ok course they all are. In the UK, there was a 'whos backing who' on the papers so everyone could clearly see which way the papers were leaning leading up to an election, even if they were not interested in politics.
It was interesting to note that certain papers changed their spots with perfect synchronisation of being funded in some way by the parties. This made the poll of 'whos backing who' slightly broken, but at least they tried to put some stakes in the ground (sand).
If Fox is right wing, and you know it, then why should it bother you? You can turn over/off and more importantly, as a skill you need into the World today to live, you should be skilled in finding the facts and experienced enough to ignore the spin.
That is unless the only facts that exist are all lies in which case, Fox News is no longer selling what its title states.
Reporting facts that do not exist is not what a News broadcast is fundamentally about. That is just spreading lies and thats what gossip is there for.
As Doc mentions MoveOn.org, I'll bring up that I think these guys probably started off life meaning to do good and have discovered just how much power corrupts :(
The more power they gained, the more corrupt they appear to be.
And yes, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reily, Laura Ingram, Jay Severon and all the other talk show hosts are indeed very oppinionated. Out of that lot, only Jay gives both sides of an argument at the same time (Except for the Iraq war, on which his policy was that the Nuke should have been used and to let the gods sort them out) .
Did anyone her Dan Rathers interviewing an 85 year old cronnie (who was clearly being steered and clearly didn't know what day it was let alone what happened 35years ago)?
Very funny ..
Dan says "It is true, correct, that blah happened?"
Cronnie : "I believe is true"
then Dan screws up
Dan : "When this was happening, what did people think at the time?"
Cronnie: "I think I'll have to say that is was probably bad for this to happen"
WTF at 85, you probably have altimers (spelling) and how on earth she was pulling things like the details of medicals of random people (at the time) out of her sadly pickled brain is beyond belief.
Gees .. some of the news I see and read in my morning commute are so aweful, its mis-information. The story is always > facts.
Whatever happened to just giving the facts.
Victim found in appartment, killed by decapitation
Police arrest man in apparment carrying sword covered in blood
Ok, so I doubt anyone cares to read such a story, but at least there is room for little spin.
