This purpose of this thread is 2 fold:

1. Find people on GH that play EvE-Online.
2. For those that play, help me with some direction on what to train next.

By this weekend I'll have that ability to fly an Assault Ship w/T2 Small Artillery. Where should I go from here?

Here's what I can currently fly (all minmatar):
All T1 Frigates
Destroyers
All T1 Cruisers
Battlecruisers

So where to next? More tech2 frigates? Improve my cruiser and what i can equip? Interdictors? Improve other skills so that I can use mostly T2 on the current ships I have?

Skiff do you know what you want to specialize in? Interdictors are for summoning capital ships by dropping cyno fields, and can also drop mobile warp bubbles. Interceptors are for tackling other ships to prevent them from warping. Battlecruisers are specialty ships in themselves and the t2 versions are geared for logistics. Assault frigs have good dps but seem to only be good for ratting and doing missions. What type of ship do you see yourself flying down the road? Dreadnaught? Carrier? Battleship? HAC?

Bzzz wrong Zan =P Force Recons are for cyno fields so cap ships can jump to ;) Interdictors are tech 2 destroyers. Tech 2 battlecruisers dependong on which you want is either a logistic support or combat vessel.

Anyways skiff to answer your question with an assault frig you can pretty much kill anything & do up to lvl 3 missions. They're not great solo pvp but have a use in gangs. If anything what role do you see yourself in? The command ships are great for gangs, HAC's are great but expensive as hell but a vagabond makes a mean heavy tacklers. Battleships for fleet ops. Dreads for sieging starbases? Carrier logistics & support. Ecm warfare? I'm personally going that route until i can get into a dread & carrier.

The corp needs tacklers, heavy tacklers & battleship pilots currently. As an fyi ^^

Erad, tells the game straight up as is. However because you can use T2 artillery, pump those gunnery skills up high enough and you can become a successfull ganker. Flying around solo picking up small groups of baddies in a wolf. The jaguar is a fine ship too, but I love the wolf by far.
For your skills it sounds like you went into AFs ASAP and left the gen eds to rot. To go ahead into the future train the general education skills, skills that increase the HP of universal ship stats (ie cap, armor, hull, shields, cap regneration, speed, targeting, and learning attributes). This will make you a very well rounded pilot of any race that will place you as a pilot oh a higher pedistle from the normal John Doe pilot.
EVE's future holds StarWars style combat meaning the select few to afford capitol ships will fly those docked aboard into combat and launch frigates, fighters, and drones to attack the other capitol ships, as battleships are reinforcements. But that will be in another year, currently the Battleship fleets remain a dominate force in assults.
I would also recommend joining a corporation. Depending on your history apart of [GH] there are two corporations. Erad's corporation has a more current [GH] player base as he is the CEO and geared the rebirth in such a means. TFC is composed of members who were once apart of grand ChiMayhem community. In short we are a major industrial corporation for the 2nd largest alliance in EVE and will see the potential EVE holds instore before a vast majority of others can even get a chance (aka, that StarWars episode 3 opening act fleet action). Chances are your friends will be in Erad's corporation, or you'll need to build friendships in any other.
The mention of corporations is done because I've seen what life is like in the NPC corporations, it is lonewolf stuff. With few people to ask for assistance when you're down on your luck or for advice. Many folks just do macro-mining or missions in search of a fleet battleship or T2 BPO. After s few months they either adapt to being alone or quit. Friendship carries you through this game, as death brings near total defeat and vindication truely is a beautiful sight.

All this talk, makes me miss playing Eve. I literally havn't touched a computer game in at least a month.

Work has been so busy...good thing is we won a new contract.

Anyways, I think I'm going to try and see what I can do about dedicating some time to Eve.

Thanks for the insight guys.

I've just started running Level 2 missions, but I want to join up with the corp for some group PvP. My fear is how well my survival rate will be in a 0.0 sector. I know if I'm with other corp members I should be OK, but I don't want to go out to 0.0 space, be the only one on in the corp and get ****ed up.

As for skills, I have all the general learning skills up to level 5 (except the one that trains charisma, I've never really put much stock into charisma). I'm considering getting the cash to start the advanced learning skills.

Maybe I will do as ToeL suggested and train up my gunnery skills (I have a ton of them, just they aren't trained very deep). and other skills to beef up my Assault Ship.

Basically what I want to do is be a fighter. I'm not about ECM Warfare, I'm all about blow you the **** up asap warfare :D

Another question, what exactly is a "tackler"? I've heard the term, but I don't know what it means.

Basically I want a ship that will keep me confident enough to go around and start shit with people :)

Upon further review of my situation and suggestions, despite the price, a HAC might be my direction. However this is what I would have to go through to be able to fly it:

Minmatar Cruiser: From lvl 3-5
Weapon Upgrades: From lvl 2-5
Assault Ships: From lvl 1-4
and then finally just get the HAC skill.

However if I do go this route, it will have me well in line to fly a battleship.

Because I've been soloing for so long and have no gang warfare skills or modulates, the T2 Battlecruiser is wasted on me. I don't want to be much of a leader type ship, I want to be a soldier.

Cruiser 5 will take you a nice long while to train. You'll also need spaceship command 5 if you don't have it. A raven would suit you well then, using cruise missiles and/or torpedos. A scorpion is more for ecm/logistics than fighting.

A tackler is someone who can quickly get on top of the target, and warp scramble and/or web to prevent them from getting away.

Gang modules are really more for fleet operations then belt ratting. The system we are in is also pretty quiet although there have been some happenings in the last few days.

Ok that makes sense (tackling that is).

Yes I have Spaceship Command lvl5.

A raven sounds nice and all, but that would kinda gimp me. I'm all about the minmatar right now and using Projectile Turrets. However I am also considering going the path of a stealth bomber. So many options....so little time.

Maybe when I get my assault ship I'll come out there.

Most of the 0.4 systems around this part have 1 cruiser and 1-2frigates in the asteroid fields.

Not likely tonight as I'm going to the gym, then going out with friends from College. Unless your going to be on at like 2am.

My weekend may be pretty gimped for EvE, but I do want to team up with you at some point and bust up some NPCs.

My suggestion for you though, if you play and I'm not on, see if you can find an agent for lvl 1 missions that has a quality of 20. Those Quality 6 missions are pretty simple for you, right? The quality 20 ones will get you better gear and money.

CCP allows people to sell time cards for ingame ISK. For like 100 million ISK you can get I think a 30 day time card. For like 270 million you can get a 100 day time card.

Erad, you've some lose cannons on your hands that have yet to be anchored down. Should I request that snigg stop by for a week stay?
- Skiff, stick with the wolf and train your gunnery. For your ambitions I doubt your income could support your alter-ego outside of the wolf.
- Love to see another Raven or even a Cerberus get a good old wtfpwned rape by a EW Kestrel, Crow, or Blackbird again.
- A Skiff in battle would do great (strip mine there hull?). Gives TFC more profit as we sell you another home baked Skiff.

All this and more is possible with out gang warfare and no cooperation.

Lose cannons, in reference to the idealist opinions of those with ambitions that are realistically out of reach. Who do not talk of logistics but rather the dreams they would like to do and what they are doing to achieve those dreams. Well, 18Million ISK Later, I'm now the proud (and poor) owner of a Wolf. Sadly though, not enough time on the weekend to give it a test run. However on the bright side my Assault Ship Skill will be lvl 3 by the time I get home from work tonight.

ToeL I was only joking about the Skiff. I have really no interest in the mining/hauling/industrial aspect of the game. I'm well aware that route is most likely the supreme money maker but I'd rather be poor and enjoy what I'm doing rather then be rich and bored out of my mind.

Being a miner is not at all a horrible scary fear of boredom and mind numbing extended long waiting. It builds patients with all aspects of personal character. Plus while I mine in empire space I get to watch some porno. If you ask nicely I can give you links. For some reason I've been blocked from the ingame porno site so no pleasure while I mine is 0.0. But then again I've only lost one retriever in 0.0 mining. A direct result of the spawn spawning on my location and warp jamming my barge. I had 1 WCS and that wasn't enough. Since then i've revamped my mining system and don't die anymore. Hyper active scanning and diligent eyes on local keep me alive and busy. One can of Crokite an hour really doesn't go far in EVE just allows me to support more expencive ships. 18M is only an hour away. 100M is only a day away. 1B is only 2 weeks away. In all though mining 24/7 won't happen as such I earn around 200M a week with active game play.

What you must also understand about me is that EvE is not the only game I play, a lot of my gaming hours go into WoW. My overall gaming time isn't really all that much either. Between work, gym, and going out with friends I don't play all that much, but when I do play EvE, I want to go out and blow stuff up.

I did my fair share of late night mining in the beta days, so that too has somewhat driven me away from it. I understand that mining is really good and profitable, but it just isn't for me.
