Anyone read the novel, see the movie, or read the manga. I finshed the Novel this weekend and I must say wow!! It was such a great book.

Gore, Porn, Philosophy, and tension. this is just a msall part of it.

If you liked 1984 then you will like Battle Royal.


Premise: A class of juniour High Kids are chosen to eb in the "Program" where in they are taking to a deserted area, where they recieve a random weapon and are forced to kill eahc other. The last person standing gets to leave with their life and wins a pension plan. (They all have bobms around their necks so if they leave, or don't kill each other, the government wills et them off)

The book is great and the plot has good twists and great climaxes!

Ya i read a couple mangas of Battle Royal. It was pretty cool, however the toon porn of junior high kids is just wack.

what can be said about battle royal...amazing. I first learned of it from the movie in my little japanese film days...i have yet to get to the book however. if you want to fun screwed up japanese film...look into anything by takeshi meekai or however you spell is (takashee meeka)

book and movie deviate quite a bit so the read is just as thrilling. (Even more so because there is alot more character builiding in the book and you really begin to connect and identify with each student.

Novel > manga > movie... that said, if you have an hour and a half to kill, you can't go wrong with the movie.

The second movie is the bastard child we will never speak of again... NEVER!!! It wasn't written by the original writer... it was written by the SON of the director of the first movie. What gives him the right? exactly.

I saw both Battle Royale 1 and Battle Royale 2.... 2 was like.... :confused: on the other hand I enjoyed 1 very much...

Off-topic= Have you seen those Kubrick Battle Royale figures D:<! they run like 80$ for the a set of 3 on e-bay daymnn >< i rather buy Be@rbricks than that though yey for KAWS <3

To anyone interested.... I watched all of BR1 on youtube.com (yes youtube does have more than just "Low-Light stuff") i searched for battle royal part1 and it was split up into 20 min parts. Not bad if you want to see but dont wanna waste money :D
