K, this is sort of a game where you post a statistic or fact that you find hard to believe. Simple enough.

With seven scoreless innings against St. Louis on Sunday, Greg Maddux won his first four starts of a season for the first time in his career.

I find that hard to believe. 322 wins and he never won his first 4 starts? Wow.

K, now you go.

I presume you mean 322 wins, not save.

It doesn't surprise me. He's only won 20 games twice in his career. Maddix to me is a great example of why wins are a bogus stat to judge pitchers by. Here is one of the top 10 pitchers of all time, maybe top 5, and he has only won 20 games twice.

One reason he doesn't win a ton of games, especially in a row, is he is traditionally 6 inning pitcher. His bullpen has always blown a ton of wins for him.

Opps, sorry, I missed the game.

In 1998 Tony Gywnn struck out three times in the last five games of the season. That gave him a total of 18 SO the whole year in 496 plate apperences. The reason that is interesting is because Gywnn had 16 HRs that year. He was 5 games away from being the frist MLB player in history to hit more HRs then have SOs.

So McGuire and Sosa struck out more than 72 times the year they broke the record? That's a lot of SO compared to Tony, they must have sucked.

So McGuire and Sosa struck out more than 72 times the year they broke the record?

in case you care in 1998 McGuire had 147 SO (more then double his 70 HRS) and Sosa had 158 SO (Way more then double his 68 HRs)

today's first selection of Mario Williams as the first overall pick was the first time an ACC player was ever picked number 1 in the draft. thats incredible. with all of the players that FSU has pumped out and they have been in the ACC since 1991!

Pujols hit his 14th homer in April on Saturday, breaking a 1-all tie in the Cardinals' 2-1 victory over Washington. The home run gave Pujols the single-season record for homers in the first month of the season, surpassing Ken Griffey Jr. and Luis Gonzalez, who both hit 13.... Pujols has 32 RBIs this month, tying Mark McGwire's club record for the month of April. McGwire did it in 1998.

I find it hard to believe that everyone is so busy talking about steroids they are missing out on baseball history. Pujols is on track to be one of the greatest players EVER. Every single season he has spent in the majors has been amazing.

If he hits 14 every month he'll have 70. Interesting.
