This is sort of like the chicken and the egg question.

When the shit hits the fan, and someone tells you 'Dont' worry. In the end, karma will balance, and you shall be rewarded for your actions' at which point in the cycle are you?
Are you recieving the effects of previous bad karma at the moment, or is this the beginning of the cycle, and your redemption shall be at hand in the future?

This is bothering me.

I don't agree the "circles" description. I don't think karma works in a cycle where you are either gaining karma, losing karma, or somewhere in-between.

I think karma is more like a bag of marbles. As you experience life and interact with other people, you may at times give away some of your marbles freely. Other times you may accept marbles freely. Still other times you may trade identical sized marbles of a different color. And other times you might exchange a larger marble for a slightly smaller one, or vice-versa.

The people who are the most disappointed by karma are those that go around begging for marbles without doing anything to deserve them.

What do you mean by circles? To Circle is to not approach or retreat. Surely the use of the word 'circle' is erroneous.

Do you mean cycles perhaps?

Lost? No. Though I have given many away.

You want karma? Go back to CHIGC. :P

As for something constructive to this conversation, I have nothing.

I think it's just another form of the Golden Rule, something society in general seems to have forgotten in their rat race.

In the context of 'moving in circles' you can say that you move in a type of definite cycle. So in the sense of karma, you can, to use dariens metaphor [good one, i think. :)], gain-,lose-,and 'trade'-marbles.

Gaining marbles, you bring good things in your life, or do good deeds worthy of redemption. 'Losing Marbles' sort of symbolizes you have made a bad choice, or done something noteworthy of having 'bad karma' returned to you, and trading is like, exchanging the favor, keeping up your end of the bargain, etc. eventually it'll come back to get you, whether it is in the sense of good prosperous happenings, or horrible luck.

[hopefully i didnt fuzzle up darien's metaphor.. <3]

I am in the procces of saving my marbles so I can afford to kick an old lady in front of a car and not be negative karma for it.
