I don't own this at the moment, but I've got the server up and running. There is some traffic appearing as well. What I want to know is how many people have this game.

What do you think about it? Should I buy it as well?

CZ is far better at registering hits on players. and with the new content that was released (new modles and sounds) on top of 6 new maps and redos of the old standered maps its not bad.

Also it comes with the unreleased Ritual version, the one that was supposed to be mission based.

the only prob I have is the bots, either their damn good or so stupid it hurts. Also I find it hard to find a server that DOESNT have them on. :?
but they are funny to hear when you shoot at them.

If you feel like shelling out 30-40 bucks (steam dl or boxed respectivly) go for it

I enjoy it, it just needs more of a community. I know alot of people didnt want to get it because its essentially a fluff they added other than the new maps.

I own it. The graphics are sweet as are the redone maps. However I refuse to play with bots. There is something about their AI system where if I poke my head around a corner to peak for people I get head shot.

I bought it via Steam when it first came out. I actually like it a lot. I have enjoyed the single player "Deleted Scenes" for the mission driven action. CS-CZ (non-multi) is all right but it's just CS with new graphics, bots and objective based missions. Gets old pretty quick. I actually liked the on-line version a lot - even with the bots. But w/ ff on its impossible to get any enjoyment. I have never gotten used to the new admin commands (I wish AMX worked). I haven't played for that reason for a while, but would if it got better.

All in all, I don't think it was a waste of money.

Yeah, see I don't think the graphics were improved that much to justify the 30 dollar cost for it. And the deleted scenes I find stupid, the graphics are horrible, the AI sucks in it, and its just soo easy.

Its on sale at Best Buy over here. Should I pick it up?

Me personally I say no, save yourself the 30 bucks and wait for hl2 in a couple of months which have an even better version of counterstrike. CZ wont be played in two months.

Its not played now Kael except by a very small playerbase, The majority of servers you see with players on em are about 90% bots.

I just want to see a fix in normal cs with registering shots.

I own it because counter-strike.net gave it to me for free.

:)

S'okay... it has custom graphics on par with what we've had in the custom community for years... it's not compatible with 1.6... and it has fewer players.

I have CZ and in my opinion it's not worth the money. Steam has recently updated the models used in CS and they are from CZ. The textures in CZ are better, but so what?

You need CZ to see the models in CS.

Rgr. CZ was worth money, just not the amount they wanted. $10-15 would have been better and probably gotten a LOT more people to buy it.

I don't have any problem paying, what was it, $30? The fact that Ritual's CZ was included was a big plus, and the new textures are worth it. Granted, I replaced the old CS models with new CZ ones with latest update to regular 1.6. I think a lot of people didn't buy it simply because they didn't want any change.

I think its more than the CS players are trying to fool themselves into thinking that CS is identical to CZ

Never mind though, their loss. Bigger still, seems us CZ owners get the Source beta to play with .. screen grabs at the ready guys ;-)

I think that they are doing this to bring CZ sales up.

btw you dont get to keep the beta, after the trial peirod is over its gone.

I'll only play it for about a week (if that) and be bored if it the same old CS.

As for only keeping it till the trial period? huh.. I can put it in a place that steam can't delete it from once I download it if I like. Probably not worth it though, betas are buggy

Its so not worth $40... not even $20. I regret purchasing it as I played it maybe 3 hours total since I got it 3 months ago =\ I dont think Steam has a return system or anything either...

I have had the opportunity to look the whole CZ thing from another angle. I recently built a machine for my uncle, he wants to start playing CS and what not. I told him to buy CZ, he did. For those who are just starting out, CZ is worth 40 dollars with what it comes with. I think most of us are spoiled because of that fact we already had cs and have tried diff models and everything like that, ie: Fusion Pack, Pod Bots. Anyways, for what you get out of the box, the single player missions, bots, updated models and the ability to d/l the other mods thru steam, I think its worth it.

Its a hell of alot better than the crap I had to go thru when I started, having to install cs, then the friggin update and getting it all setup, its difficult for some who have never played, CZ on the other hand makes it easy and will bring new life into the game I think.

All in all I think CZ was worth the money.

The only thing I can think valve should have done is maybe have packs for d/l at diff price levels for those who have CS already, like so much for CZ, so much for single player, so much for deleted scenes and so on, more people would have it now I think.

Originally, if you already had CS or HL, you got $10 off.

So Question? I want to get CS on my wife's computer. I only have one copy of HL and its setup for me to play CS and stuff. So I'm faced with buying the HL Platinum Pack or CS:CZ for her to play CS. Which one should I buy? Only about $7 difference between the two. Is CS:CZ interesting enough to buy it instead of the Platinum Pack? Ideas?

CZ has awesome AI for its bots and all the models, sounds and maps look better than CS 1.6 by a lot.

NM, I lucked out. Walmart is still selling HL Game of the Year edition for like $15. So I just picked that up. Hopefully the key isn't already in use LOL. I was really trying to save a few bucks because I plan on buying Doom3 next month then I've got HL2 the month after. WooHoo, gonna be some good winter gaming!

I remember when someone was selling HL on ebay and the picture they chose to use of the jewel case had the cd key on display. Silly bears.

LOL! why would they do that? But to stay with the topic....Condition Zero in my opinion as a long time CS junky with all the addons already - ITS NOT WORTH IT. Just my 2 cents tho

Hmmmm if HL2 was on the shelves down the local mall, I'd agree. However, its not, so CZ is still closest to HL2 AI we'll see from these guys.... CS hossies might as well be 2D compared. Walk up to the hossies in CZ and listen to them .. threaten them with you knife / gun and hear them scream :-) Also, check out their facial expressions and hand jestures

Never liked CS when Ts lost control of their hostages. CZ gives them control to reset the hossies and its tons better for it. CS_ maps are much more fun than DE_ maps

Personally, Doom3 is a big nice surprise ... I love single player fun ;-) Wonder if they will produce a co-op play for it though (yeah, I know the xbox has 4player from ship date). I might buy that also ;) 8)
