You'd be surprised what glass can withstand. Bulletproof glass in hgih end sucurity cars can stop point-blnk shotgun blasts. Hell, a bunch of yahoos at UIUC designed bullet proof glass for streetlights that withstood multiple gunshots from both a distance and up close for a senior design project in just a few months of work. I'm sure whatever the pentagon has in it's windows is heavy-duty stuff.

Look at any picture of the Pentagon shortly after this occured, there isn't much ground damage. There would be a huge splash zone of debris if the plane did hit the ground first.

Did anyone other than me watch that show about the crash? I wish I would've posted when I remembered it better, it was pretty interesting. It cleared up a lot of things about how the structural design of the building prevented the damage from being worse and caused the plane to break up into small pieces. All of the sections are connected in a way that causes only a small part to collapse, without bringing the rest with it.. And all of the supports are massively reinforced and a plane would not be able to take out very many before being destroyed.

But, there were a lot of convenient things about the section that was hit. Like, that was the only section so far to have explosion proof windows installed. I think I remember that it also just had the fire extinguishing system upgraded too. And there was something like most of the people that normally work in that section weren't moved back yet from the work being done. So basically, if a plane was going to hit the Pentagon that day, that was the best spot for it to happen.

I'm still undecided, but there are a lot of weird things about the crash. I would like to see that show again, if they replay it.

Planes are made mostly of various alloys of aluminum.

Aluminum has a melting point within the burning range of Jet Fuel.

Did you know that Thermite is made out of powdered aluminum with an oxidizer (iron oxide). If you managed to ignite aluminum, it burns pretty damn good.

Not to mention that most of the body of the plane went INSIDE the pentagon. The wings, being full of fuel, would have easily melted / burned away as they snapped off and ignited.

It's entirely plausible.

Now, that being said, if it wasn't a plane that hit the pentagon, where did that flight go, with all its passengers?

For some reason people assume this means that there isn't any plane bits left, period.

Yes. It's pointless to debate the feasibility of any of this because the information is not readily available. Much of the video detailing the crash and surrounding events has been confiscated and will never again see the light of day. Just as well, daylight ruins film anyway. :D

I don't have structural blueprint of the pentagon. I don't have a structural blueprint of the 737 that supposedly crashed there. I don't know the angle, speed, or mass of the 737. In short, there is much I don't know about these events aside from the fact that it does not look like it should.

Because missiles are expensive and maybe the government knew the source of the 'missile' attack and disabled and other capabilities of a further attack.

The conspiracy theroy people are suggesting that the Government sent a fighter jet up to launch a missle into the Pentagon, so they could pretend it was a plane, blame it on the terrorists, and help justify the war.
